As of ten minutes ago, I got my first "hung-up-on" experience. I called the parent of a child, simply wanting to let him know that his daughter is very well-behaved and hardworking in my class. (I believe in informing the parents of both good and bad behaviors.) Unfortunately, mid-way through my self-introduction the poor man began saying "Espanol, Espanol", indicating that he only spoke Spanish. Then the phone call came to an abrupt halt.
I am using dictionary.com to translate simple phrases from English into Spanish now.
This is not going to end well.
