Okay, oops, skipped a day... but with good reason, I must say. A busy day at work for me and J. By mutual agreement it was decided that cooking dinner was out of the picture, and a drink or two in Yarraville - Acqua e Vino, to be precise - was most certainly in. So, blame the alcohol :)

AeV is a fantastic venue at the best of times - lots of room (so doesn't ever feel like you're cheek and jowl to the person next of you), comfy old couches, gigantic drinks list and a quasi-30s-Cuban feel. It also holds a special place in both of our hearts, as it's where we had our wedding reception, and this was the first time we'd gone back there together. The delay wasn't for any reason in particular beyond the fact that it's more than 10 minutes walk from our front door. Sounds incredibly lazy, I know, but J and I are very spoilt to have a great range of places to go within walking distance, or close enough to. Our suburb has a great wine bar, an excellent African restaurant (Ethopian/Somali, but with some West African and European flourishes), some decent Mod-Oz restaurants and plenty of good coffee. A secondhand bookshop opened up recently, and we now have a really great Indian restaurant around the corner. All this basically means it's a struggle to bother getting in a car and driving to the next suburb for a violet-coloured, foaming glass of yumminess.

So, apologies, I'll get back on the writing bandwagon soon. I've had a few thoughts on how to address some major issues with my story, and the characters are now shaping up (admittedly, still in my head) a little faster now.
