Part 2.
Dean and Sam Winchester
Dean finally returned to the motel room he shared with his brother, Sam, pie in hand. He'd been gone much longer than expected, due to his encounter with
Claire, but he was glad to get back so he could enjoy his prize: the entire apple pie. What, like was actually gonna share with Sam?
"Dude," Sam said, hardly looking up from the book he was reading, "took you long enough. Did you help make the pie or something?"
Dean grumbled in reply, setting the pie down on the table and going to look for a fork. He found a mostly clean plastic one from their takeout Chinese the
night before. "No," he answered gruffly, "but I'm sure the girl at the counter would have been happy to have made me. That bitch."
"I take it she didn't answer to your advances, then. A girl who makes pie for a living, probably your dream woman." Sam was amused, it wasn't often his
brother got turned down by a woman, and so he was enjoying it while he could.
"I hardly made any advances," Dean retorted, furrowing his brow, frustrated. "she wasn't even that hot." Except she was, and Dean was a bit put off
that she didn't seem to find him as charming as he thought he was. He wasn't about to admit it, though. "She said I'm a dick."
It was all Sam could do to keep from laughing. "Have you met yourself? You are kind of a dick. You probably deserved it."
"Well, the damn pie better be worth all the friggin' abuse I took. It's the only damn bakery in town, and the diner's pie tasted like ass." Dean was
clearly cranky, and he plopped down at the table to start on his pie. He opened the box and stuck his fork right in, scooping up a big forkful and shoving
it in his mouth, practically moaning as he tasted it. "Oh, my god..."
Sam made a face, shaking his head at his brother. "C'mon, man, don't get all American Pie on me. That's what the bathroom is for."
"No, Sammy, really. This is the best fucking pie I've ever eaten," he explains over another mouthful, his eyes sliding shut as he groans again. "Fuck," he
says, still chewing, "this means I have to go back and deal with the pie bitch." He's secretly pleased at this news, but his eyes widen a bit as he swallows
down the pie and gets an idea. "Unless, Sammy..."
"I'm not going to get you pie," Sam said flatly, having totally telegraphed Dean's train of thought before he even said a word. "YOU said she wasn't that
hot."
Dean huffed, frustrated, as he poked at the pie some. "Fine. She's cute, I'll give her that much. But she totally looks like jailbait, little
brother. "That's usually a bonus for you, Dean, what gives?" Sam raised an eyebrow, curious.
"Usually," Dean mused, taking another bite of pie, "but she wasn't that hot." He was steadfastly refusing to admit that he was actually attracted to her.
She was gorgeous, witty, funny... but a total bitch. He frowned at his pie.
Sam chuckled lightly, giving a smirk. "I'm not going to get you pie because you're afraid of the girl who works behind the counter, Dean. Sorry, man,
you're on your own."
Dean replied immediately, mouth full, crumbs dropping onto his shirt. "Shuddup, I'm not afraid of her." He finished chewing, swallowed, then continued.
"Besides, you're a friggin' overgrown puppy, she'll probably be a total doll to you. Probably give you a cookie or something if you smile at her." Stupid
hot girl that didn't like him. Well, he didn't like her either.
Yes, it was completely juvenile, but Dean didn't care. He just wanted the pretty pie girl to be nice to him. Of course, that meant he had to rein in his
ego just a bit and be nice to her, but he just couldn't do it. Sighing, he took another bite of pie, the filling was perfect, and there was something about
it he couldn't put his finger on. It really was the best pie he'd ever eaten. And now he'd have to go back there and deal with her to get more.
Shit.
Maybe he'd win her over before they wrapped up this case and headed out of town. Or, he'd just keep eating her pie and enjoy the harmless banter, and then
likely never see her again. That was probably the more likely of scenarios to happen, knowing his lifestyle. But he wouldn't kick her out of bed should it
come to that, either.
The things Dean Winchester did for pie...
