Miley Cyrus reigns on global social media chart

American pop star Miley Cyrus topped the Starcount global social media chart once again from October 28 - November 3, a week that culminated with the inaugural YouTube Music Awards.

1. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus continued to dominate the social media world as she gained 450,000 likes on Facebook and was talked about more than 2 million times on the network after she posted a picture of her Halloween costume.

2. Katy Perry
On Sunday night Katy Perry overtook Justin Bieber as the most popular person on Twitter with a grand total of 46.4 million followers. She was followed by 450,000 this week -- twice as many times as Miley Cyrus.

3. Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber's YouTube channel attracted 23.5 million YouTube views as the singer continues to tour in Brazil, with legions of fans lining the streets to welcome the singer's arrival.

4. PewDiePie
With 42 million views on his YouTube channel over the past week, PewDiePie is the network's second most popular person behind Katy Perry. The gamer took a behind-the-scenes tour revealing the special effects seen in Hollywood blockbuster "Ender's Game" this week.

5. One Direction
The boys' "Take Me Home" tour ended after they wrapped up in Tokyo. With the buzz surrounding the end of the tour, they were talked about over a million times on Facebook.

6. Eminem
Named Artist of the Year at the YouTube Music Awards on Sunday, Eminem had a huge week on social media, too, after he gained 60,000 new Twitter followers and was liked by 160,000 new fans on Facebook.

7. Rihanna
Rihanna was added to 13,000 Google Plus Circles and talked about nearly 1 million times after her latest record with Eminem, "The Monster," topped the UK singles chart.

8. Avicii
Followed by 122,000 people on Twitter, Swedish DJ Avicii provided the soundtrack to a live-action drama at the YouTube Music Awards that proved to be one of the show's highlights.

9. Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato was one of the most talked about people in the world this week, with people on Facebook chatting about the singer 1.7 million times after she premiered her music video for "Let It Go."

10. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga was followed by 100,000 new Facebook fans and was the most popular person on Google Plus after 50,000 people added her to their user circles. The singer has been streaming her latest album, "ARTPOP," and also performed at the YouTube Music Awards.
