Roshon Fegan chills out with Bella Thorne at his new Grand Vault Studios in Los Angeles.
JJJ was lucky enough to catch up recently with the 21-year-old triple threat at the Ostrich Festival in Arizona where he dished about his duet with Caroline Sunshine, the studios and more. Check it:
JJJ: You’ve been hard at work in the studio, when can we expect some new music?
Roshon Fegan: This year there’s going to be a lot of new music. We just opened Grand Vault Studios and we’ve been recording there and making new music. I’m going to take a break after season three and just focus on music.
JJJ: Will you be releasing a full length album?
RF: I’m thinking at this point there’s going to be enough singles to make a whole album.
JJJ: You mentioned you just opened Grand Vault Studios, what made you want to do that, how did the idea come about?
RF: I needed a place to work. It’s a place for people to dance and jam out. It’s also a rent-able space so if someone wants to have a party or something. We’ve got workshops coming up with great choreographers. Plus it’s in an old bank vault, so that’s really cool.
JJJ: The Shake It Up: I <3 Dance album just came out and you have a collaboration with Caroline Sunshine called “Afterparty”. What was it like to record a song with your co-star?
RF: She’s great. She’s a really good person and it was cool to have her on the track. It’s a great song and it was cool to have her come on.
JJJ: You were in the studio with Bella recently, can you give us any scoop on what you two might have been working on?
RF: I can’t tell you exactly. (laughs) You know, she came down to GVS to support and give some support for the Chance to Dance coming up.
JJJ: Carly Rae Jepsen recently appeared on Shake It Up and Tyra Banks made a second appearance. What was it like working with them and having them on set?
RF: They love the set. It was an honor to have them and they are both great and talented people.
JJJ: Leo Howard from Disney XD’s Kickin It has a current guest arc on the show, and you’ve been on his show, what are any differences between working with him on each show?
RF: Ya know, there’s different people, it’s a different energy. We don’t have many guest stars on Shake It Up. He’s a really cool dude.
JJJ: Can you tell us what we can expect from upcoming episodes?
RF: I’m the host of ‘Shake It Up Chicago’ now and that means I’m going to be in the a story line more and you’re going to see a lot of more of me. I’m also dancing too, I’m not just the host.
JJJ: Between your music, dance rehearsals, and filming for SIU, how do you find time to sleep?
RF: You don’t. (laughs)
JJJ: Zendaya is going to be on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars. You were on season 14, did you give her any advice?
RF: Kind of. I just told her to keep smiling and have fun. And to blow your nose before you get on stage. You know, with all the sweating and stuff, you don’t want to fling snot on someone. Those are really hi-def cameras. (laughs)
