Socialite Life's 9 Biggest Disney Star Scandals
Christy Carlson Romano
We'll start mild. Well, about as mild as we get on this list. Remember Christy Carlson Romano, who played Ren on Even Stevens and voiced the title character in Kim Possible? Since her days annoying a much younger (and much less attractive) Shia LaBeouf, Christy has gone on to do Broadway (Beauty and the Beast!) and several low budget films. In Mirrors 2, which was released last fall, Christy gets naked in the shower and we see, um, quite a bit. But hey, at least she's getting money for showing her ta-tas (unlike some other people on our list). Amirite?
Adrienne Bailon
You probably recognize Adrienne Bailon as a Cheetah Girl. Or maybe as Rob Kardashian's main squeeze on a few old seasons of Keeping up with the Kardashians? Well, back in 2008, the singer/actress had a nude photo scandal of her very own. Several butt-naked photos were leaked when Adrienne's laptop was allegedly stolen at JFK airport. The Disney star said she planned to sue. Well, that was until it was discovered that the photos were fake and created by Adrienne and her publicist Jonathan Jaxson to attract attention. Um, seriously? I actually think this is more pathetic than a real photo scandal. What do you guys think?
Shia LaBeouf
Of course we couldn't leave Christy's co-star Shia LaBeouf off this list. On Even Stevens, Shia was sort of this awkward, nerdy guy who was only cute if you were 11. And then somehow in the last five years, he became hot shit. Or at least he thought he was. There was the 2007 arrest for criminal trespassing in Chicago when he refused to leave a Walgreens. A year after that, he was arrested again for misdemeanor drunk driving after he got into a car accident and refused a breathalyser. And then most recently, there was the February bar fight when someone yelled a gay slur at him. Hmmmm...somebody's well on his way to becoming the next LiLo.
Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera made it big after she starred on Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club (along with Britney and Justin Timberlake). But 2011 hasn't exactly been Christina's year. She flubbed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, fell during the Grammy's and was arrested in March for public intoxication. Hey, at least she still has The Voice!
Demi Lovato
Last November, Disney darling Demi Lovato dropped out of her tour with the Jonas Brothers and checked herself into rehab. It later came out that the Sonny with a Chance star had suffered emotional and physical issues that included an eating disorder, cutting and bullying. During her treatment, the Camp Rock actress was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Last month, Demi announced she would not be returning to Sonny and would focus on her music career instead.
Miley Cyrus
Oh Miley Cyrus. She's a fun one, right? She may not be guilty of breaking any actual laws, but she has her fair share of skeletons in her closet. There were several scandalous photoshoots (both published and leaked). Videos of Miley pole dancing and giving her producer a lapdance. Vanessa Hudgens
If any young starlet has learned a lesson about nude photo scandals, it's Vanessa Hudgens. The High School Musical actress has had two sets of nudie photos leaked in the past and they weren't exactly tame. Oh, and then last month there was a photo of Vanessa eating some sort of white substance at Coachella. Turned out to be just white chocolate, or so she says, but with her, who knows?
Britney Spears
Christina wasn't, of course, the only big time celeb who got her start on The Mickey Mouse Club. Oh, Britney Spears, what have the years done to you? The Queen of Meltdowns rose to fame at age 16, but the decade that followed has included a Vegas marriage (and annulment) to childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander, a marriage (and divorce) to the fantasically horrible Kevin Federline and several stints in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction. The sh*t finally hit the fan back in 2007 when she shaved her head and attacked a car with an umbrella. Luckily, things have recently been going OK for Britney (just check her out on the cover of next month's Harper's Bazaar).
Lindsay Lohan
Well, obviously, LiLo is the posterchild for Disney child stars gone bad. Back in February, we chronicled her top 8 legal problems. But then there's the drug and alcohol addiction. The rehab stints. The arrests and jail sentences. Lindsay got her start in Disney's The Parent Trap back in 1998, but it's hard to remember the days when she wasn't embroiled in controversy. Next month, she'll begin her 120-day jail/house arrest sentence she got after she stole a necklace last January. With LaLohan, it just doesn't end. What do you guys think? Will she ever be rehabilitated?
