plastering up the gaps

i would say i'm 2/3-3/4 of the way moved. i feel positively ill. at least the new place has ac. not that i'm there right now. i'm exhausted & the fucking mosquitoes have invaded the house. & it's damned hard to wage war on the insect life when you're trying to update. kill count is up to 2 now.

let's see if i can update you in a few minutes as to all the ky things which i have so far failed to inform you all about.

i'm moving. this weekend. to lakewood. at a later date there will be a mass e-mailing w/ all my yummy new contact info. michael & i are moving in together. we found a nice 2 bdrm w/ thanks to a co-worker who's neighbor is now our landlord. they seem like nice people & for a house that was built in 1916 it's in pretty damned good shape. it's a split-up house (sort of like the 1 i'm in now except w/ 3 floors & the landlords aren't on the premises) & we live on the 1st floor. it comes complete w/ front porch & porch swing! to see how lovely it is, you'll just have to come visit. though i might recommend waiting until after we've done a bit more unpacking & have located a bit more furniture.

i didn't end up taking off sick even though i didn't have much success w/ sleep. the trend of waking around 4am has continued every single night in a row since sunday night. i'm sure this has contributed to the exhaustion which i currently feel on top of the moving in the intense heat. but i did actually have 1 or 2 good days at work this week. friday afternoon i even got to meet the ceo of the company! he sauntered in w/ my excitable boss, john (the brains behind the project i'm working on). the ceo was actually quite nice. he asked me to tell him about my work as though i were the brains in the room (ha!). though i think it was more of a matter of trying to translate for john who can't finish a sentence when he gets excited about something (which is almost always). anyway, the ceo wants to have a lunch meeting w/ john & i next friday to discuss the project further. i really think that's quite thrilling. i mean, my ceo is taking an interest in me, or at least my work, w/in the first 1.5mo of my being there & the company isn't all that small. the encounter could be interesting in multiple ways. as in, i'm particularly interested in seeing more of what my ceo does, what kind of person he is, & how much he really knows about the business he's in. anyway, it's going to be an intense week trying to brush up on some material & chugging out results to impress the man. *sigh* never a break.

those are probably the most important things. oh, & i'd recommend calling me if you need me since being split btwn 2 different houses means limited internet time.

time to go collapse in exhaustion into my bed. oh wait, i'm in desperate need of a shower 1st. ee-yuck. blissful, blissful sleep, i'm coming soon.
