A little Master and Commander gem I would have never found...

I was skeptical about a stop-over holiday in Los Angeles when it was suggested as we planned our move from Australia to the USA. I was even more skeptical about visiting Hollywood. I was taken to a little museum called "The Hollywood Museum", located in the old Max Factor building. I was bored, I was exhausted, I'd only had 2 hours sleep in the previous 42 hours.

Then I saw it. The little collection of Master and Commander film props and costume. I flailed and damned the establishment for banning the use of cameras. But, oh! the collection was to die for, as small as it was. A few cannon, a few miscellaneous props like barrels and jars, Maturin's glasses, straw hat and post-self-operative-exploring outfit, outfits of numerous sailors as well as the entire costume of the Captain of the Marines (I feel dreadful for forgetting his name) and Jack's costume, minus coat and hat.

I wish I could remember more, I'm still jet-lagged and rushed off my feet, but I just had to share this little treasure with you all. It is well worth the visit.

m&c, film, places to visit
