Into the Ice World: Captain Cook and Georg Forster in the Antarctic

I listened to a very interesting radio drama/documentary this afternoon. It is based on Georg Forster's book, A Voyage Round the World, a travel narrative of his voyage on the Resolution with James Cook and their explorations of the Antarctic.

It seems that Georg, like Stephen Maturin was a bit of a revolutionary as well as being a natural historian and a member of the Royal Society. This work even influenced Alexander von Humboldt.
