Anniversary was good. :)

Work is work.

We have a mouse. Dan spotted it* this morning in the garage, just as we were leaving. "Are there humane mouse traps?" I ask. He doesn't care. Humanely trapping it doesn't stop it from coming back. Mentally I make the argument that killing it doesn't stop its friends and neighbors from coming in, unless he intends to put its head on a pike as a warning to others, but I say nothing. I have 2 problems with deadly traps. First, I have reservations about killing mammals. Insects and arachnids are fair game, especially insects. Reptiles and birds, fine. But dead mammals make me sad. Second, anything that comes into the house must be dog-safe. Third, related to both 1 and 2, I don't want corpses to deal with. It could have a disease. We have a compromise. Dan says it's not as though he WANTS to kill it. So I ordered some sonic pest repellant things. They're supposed to be higher pitched than humans or dogs can hear and they basically give the mice a headache so that they go away. It should not only repel the mouse we saw this morning but discourage any others from coming in.

*I started out calling the mouse "him" but quickly realized that was a Bad Idea.
