Summary: Lily wants a boyfriend, because Valentine's Day is awful without one.
Disclaimer/Claimer: Harry Potter does not belong to me. It belongs to JK Rowling.
Lily loathes Valentine's Day.
Every year, she expects it to be good to her, and every year, it leaves her a little pathetic. Rose gets her pick of the candies; for Lily, the too-hard taffies and the empty box.
She doesn't ask (it's always a little sad when the girl asks) but sometimes she just wants to wave her hands, let the boys know that she's there.
I'm more than just a nice girl! she'd say. I care about Quidditch! I could do your homework for you! My hair doesn't really do anything interesting but I can definitely try!
She consistently gets overlooked as the sweetheart, the best friend. Would it be too much to ask, even, for a wink or a smile?
Rose lets herself into the girls' dormitory late, a bold red bruise staining her neck and a flushed grin spread across her face.
"Scor likes the taffies, Lily, so I let him have them. Sorry."
Another year for the empty box.
