I did it. I have taken 10k photos with my 5DMkIII, using the Metz Macro flash ring.

I grok that. I had been wanting to get up close with these for long time.

Hey, now that I had a sync cord fabricated for my Metz, I have a spare (cheap) macro flash ring. Can I send it to you with the ring adapters? It works, but I can't see having two. And they really come in handy for lighting macro shots.

2nd? try 3rd. My first flash ring (Phoenix) didn't have the adapter to fit on the Canon lens. I tried to find one, but the cost was insane. I found the 2nd flash ring for less than what the adapter for the 1st flash ring cost.

I don't need three of them. The Metz works great and has a 5 yr warranty, and the Phoenix works. I don't need a third.

EDIT: Also, since when is a gift an 'investment'?
