Slowly...
Last night, after my tirade I went and finally looked up something I'd been meaning to for ages. I forget how long ago this came up (A month or less?) and watched a YouTube video about how to get WordPress up and running locally on the Macbook.
Tonight I got everything set up and got some initial configuration completed. It amuses me that they boast about the "five minute setup" when all you really need to get started was...unless you think it takes five minutes to come up with a title for the thing it's really not tough.
The customization on the other hand...definitely more than five minutes. I remember messing about with a demo version that was available for my domain and...yeah, there's plenty to play with.
I have to figure out how I want to approach it.
There are a lot of things I can see using it for especially since I can categorize and tag things.
I was thinking I could use it for things there are only for me that I wouldn't consider putting here (that's pretty rare), or for things that are on my to do list that are still incomplete thoughts or while they are in draft form and when I finish I'd post them here. Or for story ideas, or story pieces, or flushing out more information about the story about the sci-fi story. The one where I have so many technology and related ideas but have yet to even think about the plot.
I haven't decided if I want to do a separate one for the story stuff, another for the more journaly stuff or simply use the categories. That requires contemplation.
It would have been perfect to draft the ideas I had about the snack from the other night when I was writing about politicians. That might have changed the quality of the entry that resulted due to being distracted or trying to multitask.
I was in a unique frame of mind that night and it's been difficult to remember some of what I was thinking about my snack while I was also writing the political entry. Which is frustrating because it was definitely creative, in...more of a story sort of way? Not over-thinking it in a nutritional sort of way. You'll see. I'll try to get it written up soon.
