The peninsula.

Really?

The North has declared war on the South and her allies.

*sigh*

I started reading the statement on Reuters and got to the first sentence in the third paragraph before I couldn't stand it anymore. I'll try again later but I can't stand all the propaganda in the statement.

It is a bully thing that causes war and fights? Can bullies simply not see that there are other ways of dealing with their disputes/problems?

And the Middle East.

Don't get me started.

If ever there were regions (as a whole - not the individual level) you could use for a current example of places where an honest debate and discussion cannot take place these would be what I would use. I feel certain I am over generalizing and I apologize for that. The Middle East I feel would be easier since they...well, because they haven't declared war yet? Unless you count Syria, but that's more of an internal struggle than one with the rest of the world.

I feel like the Middle East has a bit of a case of our-way-or-the-highway. If your view is different it is the wrong view and you...well, are invalidated? Are an infidel? Must be destroyed?

Foolishness, all of it.

Please realize everyone can have their own opinion. It doesn't have to be the same as your opinion. As long as that opinion is not hurting you there's no danger in respecting it. An example would be about same-sex marriages. If two men or two women who love each other want to get married what is the harm to you?

It doesn't change who you date, or if your married, your married life. They will not move into your home. They won't steal your kids. Are afraid that they will influence your children's sexuality? Come now, you were young once. Your children will have to go into the world at some point and they will experience other points of view. They might try new things. They are going to stumble upon this in some way, shape, or form. You can't protect them forever.

Your children, armed with the facts, can make their own decisions. Whether it's for the best or not isn't up to you. They will make their own decisions.

But no, people are stubborn. And some are close-minded; sometimes that doesn't help matters.
