AVG antivirus molested my computer!

My lovely computer, like thousands others that trusted AVG antivirus to protect them from all sorts of online threats, was brutally raped by said program when it labeled a vital Windows XP file as a trojan and deleted it... thus sending my poor baby into a restarting loop every time I try to turn it on.
Until I can fix this mess, I'm stuck at net

The thing is, I don't really know how to do such a thing... still, I contacted my cousin, who is a programmer, and he will be coming to fix the problem later today, if I'm lucky... I really don't want to risk making matters worse. ^^U
I've even heard of people formatting their pc's to fix the problem before finding out it was because of the antivirus... :P

My cousin finally came and fixed it. He copied the file that was missing from the installation CD and after some struggle, managed to get windows running again. Now my baby works as well as ever. Thanks for your concern! :3
