Strange Weekend

This was a fun, but rather strange weekend.

it started on Friday. I took my first trip to Mexico, for the sole reason of getting some authentic tacos. My friend Matt lived there for 11 months building houses for the homeless, so he knew the area, and a little of the language. So it helped. And yes, they were pretty awesome tacos for about $.50 each.

But man, It's so hard to believe that people, overall happy people from what I could see, could live in those shacks. Like something id seen on TV all the time, but in real life it was quite a shock. And just right across the boder, about 15 miles south. So crazy.

That night I went to KPBS, the PBS station for San Diego, and volunteers to answer phones for their fundraising thing (you all know, your watching a PBS show, and then they piss you off for 10 minutes by doing bad acting and trying to get you to donate money). It was quite fun actually. I am going back on Saturday for their Open house, and yes, I am going to be dressed up as Clifford the Big Red Dog. Should be fun. Im doing it because i need 10 hours of community service for one of my classes, and this is a pretty cool way to do it. I am going to do my best to intern for their radio broadcast department.

Then I started drinking.

I ended up staying up till like, 7 in the morning, and then getting up at 3 in the afternoom. That nigiht we turned on Wizard of Oz with the volume down and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. I needed some weed for that! It was pretty cool the first time through the album, but then the rest of the movie didnt really sync up much.

Then today I had a baseball game yadi yada. 8 K's in 5 innings, pretty fun.

But ya, good stuff.

I have a new song on www.myspace.com/musicthornberry its an Elton John cover of a relatively unknowen song "talking old soldiers" that I just love. Take a listen if you can!!!
