The surreality of marching again just hit. Two years out of high school and I couldn't stay away from WGI. I had to come back. As much fun as I had my senior year, and as precious as WICKED and my witches are to me, I couldn't stop marching without getting to go to the big dance in April just one more time. I'm in a world guard. World. Independent World. I don't want to count my chickens before they are hatched, but I really feel seeds of greatness in our group. I feel comfortable with every single member. It sounds so cheesy and impossible, but we truly all are friends. Fifteen adults, who have come together for love of the game, who put everything they can into every moment they have, whether it's rehearsal, basics, runs, partying, or whatever. When it's time to work, we work. When it's time to play, we have a great time. We have been really productive. It's January 2nd, and we have our entire show staged and (except for maybe a phrase here and there, and my dance stuff at the end) choreographed. Christmas Follies was harder than I possibly could have imagined, but guess what? It's over. I'm alive. We're all alive. This is not to say that we are done. Far from it. But we have so much time to perfect and polish what we have, and every single one of us is so invested in the team and the team's goals that we have nowhere to go but up. I'm sore and bruised and it feels like there is no flesh between the floor and the bones of my feet, but damned if I'm not learning how to spin. If anybody wants to take a little day trip to see the show for free before the season starts, we're having Friends and Family day in the Lake City Community College Gym, January 14 (Sunday) at 2:30 pm. it's about a five hour drive from Pensacola. It'll be us, Gainesville HS, Middleburg HS, Sandalwood HS, Santa Fe HS, River Ridge HS, and Storm Independent A. It's just a preview, nothing fancy, but since Paradigm is in FFCC (Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit) and not GCG(P)C, we won't be performing in Pensacola until Feb. 17th, at the Tate regional.

Here's our schedule:

January 14th - Friends & Family Show - LCCC Howard Gym, Lake City FL

January 20th - FFCC Premier - Mitchell HS, Trinity, FL

January 27th - FFCC Show - Fleming Island HS, Orange Park, FL

February 10th - FFCC Show - Edgewater HS, Orlando, FL

February 17th - WGI Pensacola Regional

March 3rd - WGI Atlanta Regional

March 10th - FFCC Show - Ridgeview HS, Orange Park, FL

March 17th & 18th - WGI South Power Regional, Tampa, FL

March 24th & 25th - WGI Nashville Regional

April 13th & 14th - WGI World Championships, Dayton, OH

One love.
