I was gone for nearly a year, and it seems Mayfield has doubled in size since then. I'm just trying to figure out if anything important has changed or if it's just more people.

Since most of the time people who get turned into drones eventually get turned back, I think we can assume their minds are not being consumed. I have heard of entities that feed on despair, but they are rare, and I've never met one in person.
