1) What author do you own the most books by?
probably Orson Scott Card, though collectively with my family probably Haruki Murakami.

2) What book do you own the most copies of?
Don't have lots of copies. at the most probably 2 of a few books like The Wind Up Bird Chronicles by Murakami.

3) Did it bother you that both those questions ended with prepositions?
Sort of..

4) What fictional character(s) are you secretly in love with?
mmm none right now. lol

5) What book have you read the most times in your life (excluding picture books read to children; i.e., Goodnight Moon does not count)?
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card or After the Quake by Haruki Murakami.

6) What was your favorite book when you were ten years old?.
Not really sure.

7) What is the worst book you've read in the past year?
I haven't picked up any really terrible ones lately..

8) What is the best book you've read in the past year?
Pieces of You by Tablo. or maybe Fear of Small Numbers by Arjun Appadurai. Lolita was pretty damn good too.

9) If you could force everyone you tagged to read one book, what would it be?
lol Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I'm working on making people read it..

10) Who deserves to win the next Nobel Prize for Literature?
I wouldn't be the one to ask.

11) What book would you most like to see made into a movie?
I'm not a big fan of books turned into movies, but I am looking forward to Where the Wild Things Are and Norwegian Wood (though I'm not sure how successfully Murakami's books will translate into film.. After Dark might make a good one though.)

12) What book would you least like to see made into a movie?
Probably Bradbury books like the Illustrated Man. Or Poe.

13) Describe your weirdest dream involving a writer, book, or literary character.
I can't recall having dreams related to books..

14) What is the most lowbrow book you've read as an adult?
Harry Potter? Considered picking up Twilight. I just don't know...

15) What is the most difficult book you've ever read?
Probably Shakespeare in 7th grade. I think it was a Midsummer Night's Dream? At the time I don't think I understood it well. I should probably read more difficult books in general though.

16) What is the most obscure Shakespeare play you've seen?
I haven't seen any, though I do have Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus in Japanese floating on my harddrive somewhere.

17) Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
probably French.

18) Roth or Updike?
Haven't read either.

19) David Sedaris or Dave Eggers?
Never read Sedaris, though I'm not that fond of Eggers in general.

20) Shakespeare, Milton, or Chaucer?
I've only read Shakespeare of the three.

21) Austen or Eliot?
probably Eliot.

23) What is your favorite novel?
mmm default would be Ender's Game... it's been a while but maybe Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke.

24) Play?
I'm not big on reading plays...

25) Poem?
maybe The Ball Poem by John Barryman.

26) Essay?
Fear of Small Numbers by Arjun Appadurai.

27) Short story?
It was Landscape and Flatiron by Murakami for the longest time. Also, The Penny Arcade by Steven Millhauser

28) Work of nonfiction?
Not sure, haven't read one in a while...

29) Who is your favorite writer?
Card, Murakami (though I'm getting over a Murakami OD).

30) Who is the most overrated writer alive today?
I'd say the Twilight person but I haven't actually read the books. Though yeah, Palahniuk is pretty overrated.

31) What is your desert island book?
Wind Up Bird Chronicles? A gothic lit compilation?

32) Who is your favorite critic or scholar?
Don't really have one. Maybe Appadurai?

33) Who is your favorite philosopher?
Don't have one.

34) Who is your favorite public intellectual?
uh. Don't have one.

35) And... what are you reading right now?
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. and Korean Pop Music - Riding the Wave by Keith Howard.
