I've had this ongoing back pain for about 5 years and have seen about four doctors that always say, "you need to stretch more!" I tried the stretches that they recommended and nothing ever improved. About six months ago, I started to have a sharp pain down my left leg as well. At that moment, I knew something was seriously wrong and that the four doctors were full of it. So, I decided to see a family friend that is an orthopedic surgeon. It was amazing to hear within a minute or two, he knew what the problem was... a possible ruptured disk. After having an MRI done and confirming his diagnosis, I underwent micro surgery. It has been about a week now since the surgery and I'm feeling much better, aside from the muscle pain thats healing from the surgery.
What amazes me is how far along the medical field has come with surgeries and now, microsurgeries. They performed the whole surgery through a hole that is probably nothing bigger than a thumb. Below, is a picture of my lower back with the three stitches; the cut was no more than an inch in length.
