The week in review:
* Last day of work, Tuesday. Spent the day cleaning my classroom, running after administrators for clearance, filing IEPs and digging up 50+ seedlings from the garden so that the plants won't die over the summer (4 hours in the sun, got sunburned). Major body ache for two days. Gave some things for my family to a friend who's leaving.
* Would have enjoyed the first day of not working but I woke up earlyish. Spent the day going to my sister's school to meet her students and colleagues, then it was off to meet a friend I haven't seen in years. She, her hubby and baby were staying in Georgetown and I had some catching up to do with her. The push me-pull you attraction marriage has for me was evident with this visit: I loved interacting with her baby and could see myself in the same placating/husband-centered role she had with the SO (which makes me think about why I'm not so keen on it but would fall automatically into doing it if I ever had to). We went with another friend to a Thai restaurant, which was great.
* Picked up a friend and impulsively told her to spend the Thursday night at my place. She surprised herself by agreeing (she almost never goes on overnights since she is always the homebody). Went to Old Town, shopped a little and picked up a book (The New York Bartender's Guide) from Books-A-Million and jeans from The Gap. Surprise! I'm now a size 2 (used to be a 4).
* Got freaking tired of Best Buy on Friday after spending almost 4 hours there and in the surrounding mall area, waiting for my friend's laptop to get some programs installed in it. She needed help choosing, having practically no knowledge about computers. Traffic on the I-95 because of the Wilson Bridge. Spent time at her place installing her new printer as well.
* Slept at 4am due to assignments for courses. Not done with tests/quizzes but my body couldn't take it anymore. Woke up to do the tests, went to the Convention Center to pick up sister, did the lector thing before going to Georgetown, where we both got too many books that we didn't really need and wouldn't have missed if we didn't browse in Barnes and Noble. Also picked up something at The Body Shop, a UK store. I didn't know it was here since I've only been to their shops out of the country. Got a Banana Rep shirt for younger brother. Sister got picked up by hubby. Went out to party till 2am with some friends in Moderne. Got into some hip-grinding action on the dance floor with some guy who didn't even notice that I had a date who was dancing with me. Crashed.
* Sunday, museum duties. Felt like I was going to zonk out anytime. I have a full week of classes. Yoicks. So instead of trying to figure out what I'll need for tomorrow, am chatting with older sister who was having a crisis and surfing the net for something she wanted. Found cute guy Yannick Bisson, who I would marry in a minute since he is totally my type.
