Also, we've had a bee's nest. Bees in the attic. Buzzing around outside. The first exterminator we called said they couldn't do it because our house is too tall (??? He said that without even coming out to look, btw). The guy we got to do it was a bit... weird. But he did it and they're gone.
His contract says he'll come out to fix it if there's a problem anywhere between a week of when he came and six months. He said the wait a week part is because you have to give it time for the bees who weren't in the hive to come home, go buzzing around, and then die from breathing the poison. He said that it'd probably only take a few days, but that the week guaranteed that if we still saw bees there was still a problem and we should call him then.
Two days later, there were a handful of bees left, so my mom decided that we were definitely calling him on Monday. "I don't care if he said to wait a week because there would still be bees for a few days! It's a few days later and there are still bees!"
Luckily, that was Saturday, and she couldn't call him until Monday anyway. They were all gone then.
