All that can be seen is not
All there is cannot be seen.
How can I ever know for sure
I don’t, while waking, dream?
What is reality? Do you know what is real? How do you know? How can one know?
René Descartes said “I think therefore I am,” which is a reasonable and logical statement that must be true. One must exist for there to be anyone to contemplate the question of existence! But Descartes had trouble proving the existence of anything else, or even his own existence in the physical human form which he perceived.
So you know that you are real in some way. Do you know what else is real? What if, as Albert Einstein said, “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one”?
What do we really know for sure about the world around us?
