So Sunday night, my grandmother got put into the hospital in Valley, Alabama because she was throwing up what appeared to be blood. Mom and I headed down there on Monday to check on her and see what was going on only to be hit with the fact that my grandmother may not make it out of the hospital alive. She's in the final stages of Alzheimer's, which we already knew that, but in the past 2 months, she's dropped like 60-something pounds, she's severely dehydrated, in the midst of kidney failure, and she has about 10 blood clots in her right leg. The doctors gave her about a 30% chance of recovery, so that was a pretty emotional day for all of us. I left there later that evening to head back to Rome for work. Tuesday, I didn't go to work because I had some stuff I needed to do around town, so I ran some errands, then I cleaned the house for my mom and studied for my math test. Wednesday I went to school, the doctor's office, the dentist, then to pick the puppy up from the groomers, then I headed home to pack and head out to Alabama. I got there around 8 and mom and I went and got some dinner, then we just hung around there until we fell asleep in these lil recliner things. Thursday my grandmother slept all day, so it was a pretty boring day for me. I left Alabama around 9 to head up to Carrollton to spend the night with the girls, and that was a lot of fun. Friday I left there around 12, drove back to Alabama, only to find out that in the midst of them placing a Greenfield Filter in her vein to stop blood clots from dislodging and hitting her heart, one had already dislodged and was now 7 cm away from her heart. Thank god they went in when they did, but the filter was placed a little higher up then where they wanted it to be, but that's cool I guess. She has to spend the weekend in ICU, so we are going to pray that she makes a good recovery and is able to head back to the nursing home. They also think she has a tumor on her bladder and that whatever it is, is blocking something vital in the kindey (i think is what I understood) so it's a royal mess, as you can see!!
I'm home now, though. Hopefully I will be back to work and such next week, so we'll see! I'm home all weekend by myself, which is fine with me bc I have a ton of laundry to do, and the house is a royal mess! Josh house sat for me while I was gone, and he is MESSY!
