Draco dussumieri

During the Elephant Census at Maarigundi (Pushpagiri Wildlife) , we had found an interesting Draco(flying lizard) to be precise Draco dussumieri on the coconut tree in the Forest Rest House premises. This lizard was simply amazing with its skin color almost similar to the color of the tree bark which makes it really difficult to spot. I dont have any good pics to post/link now but an image found on Wikipedia..

Am waiting for sanath's pics of the same.Hes got some amazing shots.

I hardly get to watch television but today I am so happy that I got to watch a documentary on Draco dussumieri. I loved the way the whole flight mechanism was documented. This was also followed by a footage of Gliding Lizard Mecistotrachelos apeoros which was discovered recently in Virginia. Interesting this lizard is similar to Draco dussumieri. Simply amazing. What more could I ask for on a lazy sunday afternoon :)
