'Did you hear that he was dead, Joe?' I presently asked, with increasing diffidence.
'I think,' said Joe, after meditating a long time, and looking rather evasively at the window-seat, 'as I did hear tell that how he were something or another in a general way in that direction.'
Oh I heart Joe...
Seriously, I don't understand how people can think Dickens is boring.
but now i must read a local book about the valley....
I'm sure it's probably decent, but i find books that are about history or take place in rural areas are about the events first... and thats ok, but i love when the people are first, and their interactions, how they feel how they percieve other's feelings, the emotions and personalities become so complex and you become so involved with the characters. None are purely evil, none purely good, you could grow an effection for any of them.
*sigh* I heart Dickens.
Election night is bound to end in tears. I wish I vote, I feel so helpless... Our mock election wasn't as popular as i'd hoped. I have no doubt scotty will win here, i'd vote for him since npd and green are pretty lame in this area. But since it wouldn't actualy count i "voted ndp"... i just figured jack layton would show up and accuse me of treason if i didn't.
right, i'm off.
love,
anna
ps. go read a book mofos
