Character Information
Name: Tifa Lockhart
Source Canon: Final Fantasy VII Compilation (Advent Children)
Age: 22
Role In Canon: Secondary protagonist. Best friend and potential/possible/maybe no maybe yes love interest to the main character, Cloud Strife. Temporary leader when he was having um, issues. Heart of the team, to use a pun.
History: wikia ♥ tifa lockhart
on the way to a smile: case of tifa
Tifa will be taken after Aerith's healing rain appears in the church to heal the children (and Cloud) of Geostigma. Basically, she's from the end of the movie but before Dirge of Cerberus.

Personality: Tifa's a cheerful, optimistic sort. She has a penchant for gaining friends easily, and a habit of adopting stragglers into her extended family of sorts. She's warm, giving, and is the glue that holds the group of AVALANCHE together--she keeps in contact with all of the others throughout the events of Advent Children during Cloud's self-imposed exile, and is one of the only people (save the deceased Aerith) who can talk any sense into him. Her personality is described in a nutshell with one phrase: "If Aerith was the soul of AVALANCHE, Tifa is the heart." Tifa's a bit more restrained and calmer than her other female counterparts in the game--she's not nearly as mysterious and playful as Aerith, and not as self-serving and excitable as Yuffie.

She's gentle, helpful, and very kind, and has a soft spot for children especially. With that said, Tifa's fairly stubborn, almost to a fault, and when she's dug her heels into the ground it's hard to get her to relent. She's got something of a passive-aggressive streak when it comes to romance and other ventures -- she has a hard time expressing her deeper feelings a lot of the time, and is prone to fits of jealousy (due to frustration) that make her come off as a little immature and catty, although she's grown up quite a bit, and experienced a great deal of loss, and so this behavior isn't as commonplace as it used to be. She's far more resigned than petulant, and outright angry instead of passive-aggressive. The Tifa in Advent Children differs from her original game counterpart in this sense--she's become more inclined to express her feelings and tell Cloud what bothers her. She still has a very long way to go, but the building blocks are there at the least.

She's patient however (for the most part) and relatively easygoing. Tifa's the type of person that always greets you with a smile, no matter how unfriendly or reticent you might be. She's motherly as well, and her overall non-argumentative and calm nature tends to make her easy to talk to -- she doesn't force things. She rarely loses her temper and even when it happens it's somewhat subdued...usually, anyway. Tifa gains attachments easily...part of the flaws of being so warm and caring, and so tends to be let down and hurt when people don't open up to her as much as she'd like.

This, however, isn't all there is to Tifa. While she does at first glance, appear brave and willing to dive headfirst into any challenge that might come her way, at her root, she dislikes most non-physical confrontation, and does her best to keep a lot of her deeper feelings under wraps, as to not burden others. She is someone who gives a lot of herself away without particularly revealing too much about what goes on underneath, so while at the surface she may appear open and outgoing, she's actually not the type to reveal too much about herself when it comes to her own emotions. Again, she's developed in terms of this in the years after Meteor's destruction, but she still isn't one to put her emotions on display.

There's some darkness there hidden underneath her cheerfulness, a lot of bitterness and pent-up anger. She's angry at Shinra, angry at Sephiroth, hurt that her father and hometown were taken from her. Anger drives a lot of the decisions she makes throughout her life, and for a long time she stops herself from feeling bad for her actions because of this anger, because she believes that said actions are for the greater good. In the "Case of Tifa" novella, she says that this anger kept her from grieving about Aerith's death, as she was too focused on defeating their enemies. But when the grief did finally hit her, it hit her hard.

Most importantly, she's guilty. She feels guilty for her actions in AVALANCHE indirectly (and at times directly) amounting to the deaths of hundreds of people, guilty for keeping the truth from Cloud for so long (even though this was done out of her own confusion and muddled memories, as well as a concern for Cloud's wellbeing), and she is profoundly guilty about Aerith's death. She blames herself for this, and blames herself for the deaths of hundreds in Sector 7. Her efforts to help rebuild the Planet, and her adoption of Denzel, are done partially out of this guilt -- she considers it penance, in a way.

Abilities: Tifa Lockhart is the strongest unaltered human in her source canon. She is a martial artist, and practices the fictionalized art of Zangan-Ryu--an art of which she is the last known remaining master of. She is incredibly physically powerful (supernaturally so, in comparison to most human beings in her canon), resistant to physical and magical injury, able to hold her own against men twice her size, and monsters fifty times her size. She can destroy church pews with her bare hands, falcon punch monsters in the face, can backflip and jump several feet into the air, run down walls, and is just overall very fit and in peak physical condition.

In addition, in the original game, Tifa utilizes the usage of Limit Breaks, special techniques used in battle. These Limit Breaks form a chain of attacks, and are as follows:

❥ beat rush ; tifa quickly punches the enemy three times.
❥ somersault ; pretty much what it sounds like. she somersaults in the air and kicks an opponent.
❥ waterkick; circling sweep kick, creates a wave of water.
❥ meteodrive; vertical suplex! which creates an explosion! i don't get it either!
❥ dolphin blow ; uppercut that summons water...and a dolphin...to attack the enemy.
❥ meteodrive ; lifts the enemy, spins them in midair, slams them to the ground.
❥ final heaven ; basically a hadouken. her punch creates a huge kamehemeha energy blast.

These limits do more damage (between 15-30% more, depending on the attack) than her ordinary kicking and punching, but for the sake of rp, I'll be adapting these to simply flow into her regular martial arts techniques if a fight log pops up, except with a lot more Matrix-style fanciness (basically it'll be a bit less ridiculous).
