WoW people, take A FUCKING CHILL PILL. Another stupid American trait that you all expressing here is how personal you take everything. For christs sake, could people be any more sensitive?

Now when it comes to being sensitive, I'm talking about being offended by words. If you get offended, at least in my opinion, there are two reasons why A) You subconsciously think you are in the wrong, B) Don't take the times to really perceive it. Now, let me give my reasoning. If you thought the way you were living your life was fine and acceptable why would one listen to sayings that contradict it? What do I mean... For instance, as Sara said before, she doesn't believe in "American's" traditional god. Now, to me (remind you, I don't know how it is for her, everyone perceives things differently), since I believe she totally believes in it and that it is not wrong to believe in it, anyone's negative words against me would be, as she said "moot." This is where my opinion of over sensitivity has come in. As soon as someone "attacks" us we feel the need to defend ourselves (especially if its physical or attacks something we believe). Now remember from before when I said it, we are all allowed to have our own opinion (also note, I really don't agree with attacking people or saying that the way they live their life is stupid, unless somehow you can really rationalize and explain it.. though, how would you really make a reaonsable statement to explain why something is 'stupid'? Even reasonable explaining something as "worse" is damn near impossible.) Woo.. way to get lost. Anyway, since everyone has their own opinion of course there are going to be people that will disagree with you, but once you let it get to you, and then when you take it personally, and attack back, is where I get our over sensitive part. Only we've taken it another step and made it a legal issue more and more. I have another reason too.. but I don't know if its suitable for this here because it may just as well get blown out of proportion.

This is why I think the original meaning of "Gay Pride" was awesome. It wasn't trying to force their ideas on anyone, just to get equality, be accepted. It wasn't trying to turn people gay, it was just to be realized as a real acceptable way to live ones life. It allows me to still have my opinion that I think its not "right" per say.. but everyone has their own life, and who is to say its wrong? However, Ive lately seen them protest and attack people that had differing opinions from theirs which isn't the original goal. Acceptance is what we need to strive for as well as realizing that someones different opinion isn't an attack on your own.
