the US. He then moves to Germany when he's 18 so that he can go to

Biologist? (I'm not so sure yet... So things may change along the way!)

~Prologue~
PROLOGUE
The world outside of Muggle London had been battling in a war for many years. It was Dark wizards against the Light. The Dark Lord, Voldemort, insisted on killing all muggle-borns and half-bloods that tainted pure wizard blood. This included the killing of the Potter family. James Potter was a descendant of a pure, strong wizard family, but because he had married a muggle witch named Lily, producing a half-blood son, their life was doomed.
Voldemort had managed to kill both Lily and James Potter, but once he had thrown a curse towards the little boy named Harry Potter, his life had ended. Even though Harry was only a few months old, he had become a very famous wizard for killing one of the greatest wizards of his time.
Since Harry had no close relatives left he had been sent to the next best thing, his godfather: Sirius Black. Sirius lived with his partner, Remus Lupin, in the US, on a small farm in PA. They took Harry in with open arms and brought him up as a hard working farmer. When Harry reached the age of ten years old he started showing signs of magic. Not living in a magical town brought a few problems for the family since there was no where to send Harry to learn his magic. So they contacted an old friend, Albus Dumbledore Headmaster at the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, asking if it were okay for Harry to be home schooled. Albus agreed, saying that it was better for him to stay where he was enjoying the life of farming then bringing him up in a world where he was notorious for killing someone.
Because Harry was showing signs of his magic, the two men finally explained the death of his parents and that he was a wizard. Harry became depressed and did not talk to anyone for almost a year. Because of this, his schooling was put to a halt and he had started learning about his powers by himself. Sirius and Remus were worried that he’d danger himself and others if he kept becoming more depressed. So they got the idea to adopt a child so that Harry had someone to concentrate on, and become friends with.
Deciding that it wasn’t safe to adopt from a muggle agency, they ended up getting a child that had lost parents in the war with Voldemort from the wizard world. The boy’s name was Gabriel Malfoy, and he was five years younger than Harry.
Having something in common with the boy, Harry began to open up more. They grew to be best friends and because the little boy looked up to Harry so much, he chose to keep Harry’s last name so that they could be ‘real brothers’, and soon they both forgot that they were once from different families.
Sirius and Remus both took turns teaching Harry how to control his magic, and sometimes taught Gabriel simple things so that he could be like his big brother. Soon everything started to come together; they were like a family and grew quite close.
Harry showed signs of becoming a great wizard, but he was afraid of what he could do. He didn’t want to face the world that had once killed his parents and ruined his life. So he kept to doing simple magic that helped him around the farm.
As the years went by he became a sturdy, muscular young man, always working out and keeping the farm in top shape. He had decided that one day he was going to own his own farm along with his brother, and raise animals of his own and stay far away from the wizarding world, which they both hated with a passion.
