We're finally going from Information Dusty-Back-Road-Frequented-By-Amish to Information Super Highway! Yes, the 178 family is finally getting some form of high speed internet. It's DSL but that's still going to be a God-send after all these years of dial-up. Like floating on some heavenly torrent of data, coursing through the tubes at speeds heretofore unknown by mortal man. Doors to illegal mp3s and amusing videos of cats playing with string previously but a distant fantasy will now burst out of the darkness onto my home computer like the dawn of a new day. I will try to resist the siren song of World of Warcraft, telling myself repeatedly that I really don't have the time (I REALLY don't), but it's probably only a matter of time now.
Also, I've signed on for more work as an extra with the MN Opera. With only five performances and seven rehearsals, it's a quick, fun way to make a few extra bucks. W00t.
