Такая интересная история

Налогоплательщики “скинулись” на $15 million и купили полиции Портланда апгрейд системы, по которой работает служба 9-1-1.

Полиции это не нравится.

FAIRVIEW - A new 9-1-1 computer aided dispatch system in the Portland area is frustrating some officers and some of their bosses.

Fairview’s police chief, for example, is fuming over it. Portland voters approved the $15 million upgrade to the old CAD system. Portland convinced other local police agencies to embrace it.

A few weeks into operation, many are regretting the purchase.

“This is about safety,” said Fairview Police Chief Ken Johnson. “We bought a sick horse and we need to get it to the vet and we need to either get it fixed or we need to euthanize it and put it out of its misery.”

Chief Johnson says the font is too small for officers to read on their computer screens which are mounted to the right of steering wheels in police cars. Johnson says the 9-1-1 system has been dispatching his officers to incorrect locations and that the new GPS function celebrated in the upgrade is often inaccurate.

“It doesn’t work,” said Johnson. Portland Police Officer Garrett Dow is in charge of making that same system works for his colleagues. As he expected, there are growing pains. “About ten percent of our officers really just hate it, ten percent really love it and about 80 percent are just content with it,” said Dow. “It’s their tool and they’re just content to try to make it work.”

Полностью.

У кого нет проблем с английским - почитайте?! А если коротко, то все можно выложить в одной фразе - все новое, чаще всего не принимается потому, что оно - новое. К этому нужно привыкать.
