DwtS Tuesday night spoiler

I'm on a business trip, so no TiVo, and I didn't get to see the first 40 minutes of the show, so ...

Cody dances with Edyta this week. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely awkward. Too bad for him that he had to lose Julianne the week he had to do the Viennese Waltz, which would probably have been his weakest dance anyway. It had rather more stomping than I would have preferred, and didn't seem as fluid as it should have been, but it wasn't bad. There was also noticeable "rise and fall", which many celebrities have lacked in previous seasons, so good for you, Cody. Hopefully he'll be back another week to get more used to a new partner. He's definitely nervous, though, and he genuinely misses Julianne. It's rather sweet.

Lance and Lacey have a little spat this week before their rumba, probably because it's awkward and uncomfortable! But in the end, they dance a beautiful rumba that Carrie Anne thinks is their best dance yet. Bruno loves it, and both he and Carrie Ann applaud the risk they took by dancing barefoot (Lacey thinks it's an "earthy" dance), but Len ... not a fan :) Lacey appears to be wearing an old Edyta outfit.

I'm excited to see Brooke and Derek dance the Foxtrot. It should be lovely. In the opening package, Derek tells her there were moments in there where he felt like he was dancing with a professional. How sweet! LOVE the opening! It's like Old Hollywood glamour. This is a great dance for this team. Brooke has the best "dance hands" of any star they've ever had on this show, I think. I smell a 30. That was truly lovely. Bruno: "Gobsmacking beautiful performance from start to finish." Wahoo! 30! I was right :)

Now they're up for Team Dances -- 2 teams of three couples will dance ... for scores. The team dance will count for half of their score. Team Cha Cha (Lance/Lacey, Cody/Edyta, Susan/Tony) is up first. Susan "feels like she's a step behind", and I predict she will be in the performance, too. Oh dear. They start with a really cute shot of Cody ... counting his steps clearly. Wow, La Luch is stiff, and she continues to be unsure of her steps. Seriously, she's such a stiff little stick, I'm afraid Tony's going to break her. They're smart to end the three sets of solos on Lance and Lacey, because they are the highest energy, most sure of themselves couple, and they actually know their steps. Nice. I'm giggling at Cody's little undeveloped chest. He's such a cutie! LOL at the brilliant ending, with the boys doing the "drop it like it's hot" booty shake.

Up next is Team Paso Doble (Brooke/Derek, Maurice/Cheryl, Kym/Warren). I predict Team Cha Ca getting a spanking. Warren: "Team Cha Cha... we gonna paso ... on yo doble!" It starts out way more impressive ... just a lot of oomph, which the other team was missing. L&L wish they were on this team, methinks. Hey -- Maurice brought his A game. Dancing with the other two men really brought a competitive improvement to his dancing, I think. Their solo is great. Oh ... I feel bad for Brooke and Derek. They did this AMAZING series of turns, and then stumbled a little coming out of it. The unison segment is better than Team Cha Cha, that's for sure. This is just a better, more impressive dance, I have to say. As Bergeron said, "what a way to end the night!" He's right.

Predictie McLeaverson didn't see all the dances, but she fears Cody might be going home. Hopefully he'll get the sympathy vote, with Julianne in the hospital. After previous weeks, I expected Maurice would be going home this week, but I saw his scores, and the judges loved him. That, plus the 29 for the group dance makes me think he's probably not going home. Predictie would really like to just say goodbye to Susan this week, but fears for the large soap fanbase.

Edited for full disclosure: I did not do that marvelous piece of photoshopping. Can't take any sort of credit whatsoever. It was emailed to me, for which I shall ever be grateful.

dwts, funny
