a chain of random links
I seem to be in a rut of posting American Idol recaps, inane blather, and random linkage. My apologies to regular blog readers. However, there's MORE! Here are some very dis/unconnected things I keep meaning to post about.
Since I never wrote a recap of our trip to Germany and I have random bouts of ADD (look, something shiny!), here's the time lapse of the setup and conference. Kind of fun to watch it all at once like this ...
Do you know musician Jeff Healey? He died Sunday night. He had the same cancer as my oldest nephew. I'm not sad about it (my nephew; not Mr. Healey. May he rest in peace) because frankly, my nephew is doing really really well. And he's also in the Spring of his second year at Columbia University, which makes me both really proud and really old.
wandererjen recently posted this fascinating article about children and lying in her blog. I can't stop thinking about it. If you have kids you should read it. Even if you don't have kids, you might want to read it.

Originally uploaded by Antof9. This is the newest addition to my Happy List. A couple weeks ago, the girls' group at our church went to the paint-your-own-pottery store, and I painted this mug. I didn't have a clue how it would turn out post-baking, but I love it, and have already had multiple raspberry lattés in it :)
Anyone want to go back with me? I need a set of 4, which I'll be doing in the same colors but different designs (need something more manly for Unk, for one thing). I'm also considering doing a similar thing with different size mugs so I can offer people any size drink they want! This might be an addiction. We had a seriously fabulous time.

Oh, and I have no idea why the pantry door is open in those shots. I might have gotten distracted by something shiny.
