ROFL, I think perhaps Elham should just stop arranging to meet folk who are passing through Frankfurt :-) The same thing happened to me two years ago, I was supposed to have one and a half hour stopover on the way to Japan, in the end we were especially escorted from our plane direct to boarding on the flight to Japan, because our flight out of Heathrow had been so delayed.
Luckily I got to actually stay in Frankfurt last year and it was wonderful....and I got to meet up with Elham
Look at it this way, if it makes you feel better -- as Inko says, "your currency is kicking our currency's butt!" That is, you can come for a lot cheaper than you might think. Plus, you can stay in my guest room :)
LOL! I didn't think it was rude at all -- it made me inordinately happy, in fact (also because you hadn't come all the way to the flughafen for no purpose!).
Ant, you missed a great treat. One of the happiest moments of my life was seeing Elham waiting at the barrier in Frankfurt for me. Mainly because I'd only just made my flight by the skin of my teeth after an unintended visit to Welshpool, though she wasn't to know that.
But that aside, having such a charming guide through a delightful city was sheer pleasure, and before I knew it, she was teaching me German and showing me rare and exotic animals, such as weissschwans and grunsauce.
And Elham, you missed a treat too - Ant is a darling. Book yourself a trip to the Denver Convention in 2010.
