Friday night: Denver - Kansas City - Chicago - New York, with a fabulous but way-too-short visit in the Kansas City airport with BookCrosser ksreader (and darling daughter) to hand off the North American Book Chain Journal.
Saturday afternoon and evening: Saturday Boozy Lunch with lizmopuddy (just in to spend Irish cash), greedyreader, zz_neena, plus some new friends, and the first Mexican restaurant I was ever in in my life that didn't serve chips and salsa the minute you sat down. Following lunch (that ended I don't know ... around 5:30?), the hangers-on made the obligatory viewing of The Tree with 567 million of our closest friends. Isn't this snap of Lizmo just fab? That grin is pretty much a perpetual feature of her face. I don't have a lot of pictures, but if you click on that one, you'll see the rest that I posted on Flickr, including a fuzzy (it was dark and there isn't a flash on my iPhone) one of ZZ's covet-worthy bone structure and GR's "I'm a MILF" pose.
Sunday afternoon: August Rush with my oldest niece. Totally enjoyable, even though it had a lot of holes. Definition of a "feel good" movie.

Tuesday night: The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center. Amazing, of course. I mean, it's ballet in NYC -- how could it be anything but? Well ... it did include an alarm that went off almost the entire second act. Seriously, the conductor should win a medal after keeping time through that. I'd have been insane. And sshhhh -- don't tell anyone, and quite frankly I'm shocked too -- but I think I actually liked the interpretation I saw in Denver last year better than this. I know, it's hard to understand. The quality of dancing, of course, was better here ... but I liked the show better in Denver. I think.
