Quickly intercepting the message en route to Sirius, Remus scratched under James' hand,
Would you cut it out, the both of you? Only nineteen months until OWLs, and I'm tired of The Look, to be frank. (And if you get detention, I shan't provide you with excuses this time, either.)
Remus wrinkled his nose, took a quick glance at McGonogall, and grabbed the note back as soon as her back was turned.
Not nearly enough--less than two years, and we've not even started on stunning spells or switching spells or anything! And stop it; you're going to get caught. Minnie has eyes in the back of her head, you know.
James snickered as he quickly took back the piece of parchment, reading what Remus wrote. He looked up to see what McGonagall was doing..Nothing apparently..Just rambling on about stuff.
She wishes she had eyes on the back of her he-
"Mr. Potter! May I ask what that piece parchment has to do with this class?" "Well you see Professor, Remus here was trying to convince me to do my homework, see?" McGonagall rolled her eyes. "While I praise your efforts Mr. Lupin, keep it out of my classroom."
"Yes ma'am," Remus muttered, looking carefully at his desk. As soon as she stepped away, however, he glared at James and fought the urge to stick out his tongue childishly.
Resisting, he instead shot a quick spell at James' paper, then turned back to taking notes. As he wrote, the ink showed on James' paper.
You... miscreant. I do hope you're actually paying attention now.
James stared at the paper for a minute, before turning and actually sticking his tounge out at his friend. Grabbing a new piece of parchment he quickly scribbled a response.
I resent that. Paying attention? You mean like...actually listening? Nah..Not yet.
The inky reply seeped in immediately under James', though Remus gave the air of paying acute attention to the lecture.
It might do you good, you know. If you paid attention, you might've advanced beyond such crude methods as passing notes; didn't you hear about that writing-transfer spell Flitwick mentioned in passing? It'd get you less caught.
Yes, he wrote, pausing to quickly scribble a note about the lesson into the margin, outside the scope of the transfer spell, you really are. I heard her telling that Hufflepuff girl the other day that she'd found a new hex for you that would make your eyebrows turn green and glow every time you look at her...
James scowled, looking a bit put out at this. Damn her and her clever ways. Does the spell say anything about looking through mirrors and looking at her? Not that I want to know or anything..

Oh calm down Remus. We've done worse things than pass notes, we're not going to get in that much trouble. Plus you said it yourself..Nineteen months.

But that ruins the whole thrill, now doesn't it mate? And I was paying attention...To something else.

Yeah, to Evans.
This was followed up with ga-ga hand motions wrapped around his back making it as if Sirius was making out with someone.

He smirked knowingly, and flicked his eyes meaningfully at the vibrant blob of red hair two rows ahead of them.

When I get some witty comeback, I'll let you know. That was flicked to Sirius, as he scrawled a response to Moony.
Great advice mate, I'll take it to heart(note my sarcasm). I'm not that obvious anyway..
