Yeap it's good business to kill people. These guys charge $5000.00 for this landmine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XM-7_Spider_mine Yeah it's computerized and RF networked, but still seems high priced. For $5000 I would want it to move around. Be able to tell it, move forward 50 meters, type thing. Also be able to reload, like rotate the ammo unit, so if fired towards NORTH, you can point a new mine round NORTH (and no longer cover the north/east segment.
Too bad many smart people don't like killing people. There would be more competition and we wouldn't get screwed so bad. Wait, did I just say we need more people who want to kill people? :). We don't really need that. Really we don't need land mines at all. Really should be banished. These are so called "smart mines" that disable themselves when abandoned. So not to kill as many innocent people. But really, land mines are nasty killing machines no matter which way you look at it.
It looks like soon all armed services will be buying lots of robots. The air force already buys more robots planes than piloted planes. Just a matter of time.
