after a trip to the park today, lulu was tired and cranky and not feeling well, it seemed. she wanted only to sit on my lap and nurse, actually dozing off for a bit. but when she was awake, she was alternately somewhat lethargic and then she'd cry like she was in pain, but only for a second. mor mor came over and held her for a long time. i checked her body, looking for bug bites or injury, but i couldn't find anything. and she wouldn't tell us if something hurt. finally, i was reading her a book and mormor noticed that she was favoring her left arm. so i checked her out, no swelling, no dislocation or anything. she said that her elbow hurt. and sure enough, she was fine unless i tried to straighten out or bend her arm. because it feels fine and isn't bruised or swollen, we haven't done anything special, although we got some children's tylenol in case she is in more pain during the night. i think that she just twisted it somehow- she was doing her famous passive resistance thing as we left the park and got in the car, so she may have banged it or something, too. we'll see. poor baby. i think that the lethargy was just 'cause something hurt and she didn't know how to deal with that! i just night weaned her, too, so no comfort nursing during the night...unless mama makes an exception. i don't know...
