You know something? As a Basic User, I don't just see sponsored comms that recieve priority over fancomms, or YouTube logos on embedded videos. Other than the little yellow arrows (which, really, aren't that bad, as you can also use them to wrangle a paid account as they are just a button for the "Manage Payments" option), I've really only seen the Frank ads for Sponsored+ on the pages immediately following posting a new entry or editing an entry's tags. There's also an ad for Sponsored+ on the front page, but I would be a bit confused if it wasn't as that is the sort of thing to let potential users visiting LJ for the first time know about before/when they sign up. I will keep you posted, though, if I see any others.

I would just ignore them, if not A) they are rather large and slightly tacky and B) this is the sort of thing LJ had always promised they would not do in the past. The only way to opt out of seeing ads for Sponsored+ seems to be to get a paid account, but it hardly seems worth it as I would still see sponsored comms and would essentially be paying for the same features that I'd never use that others get just for putting up with tacky banner ads.

A pity that I am financially capable of shelling out for a yearly paid account for the first time since this journal was created, only to find that being a paid user really isn't beneficial anymore. =/
