four: (video/action to those in the layton party)

Well, this past weekend certainly was interesting. "Leave, Hurry"? [ he chuckles derisively. ] It sounded like nothing more than a childish prank from someone with nothing better to do. Still, I will admit that it was a troubling predicament-- and somehow, I don't believe we've heard the end of those strange creatures that appeared those nights ( Read more... )

"Interesting" may not be a way to describe it for me, but that is one way of placing it, my boy. As for why, I am not quite sure. I have heard rumors of this being a "glitch" in this video game though.

Ah, and you are interested in obtaining an egg from a Pokemon? Claire is a breeder, so she may know more about this matter.

May I ask why you wish to know?

A "glitch"? That's a flippant way of putting it. Though I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "video game", Professor.

[ this next part causes him to blanch inwardly, though he doesn't let it show. okay. this is a good excuse to talk to claire, anyway. ]

I've been doing a bit of research on the different types of Pokemon. It appears that some are not available for capture, and that the only way to obtain one is through breeding.

I'll be sure to speak with Claire when I next have the opportunity. Thank you, Professor.

Hm, well, "video games" are apparently these devices in the future that allow you to play games where you take control of a "hero" and go onto an adventure. I am actually not too sure about them actually.

[Gotta go ask Kaito or someone more about this or something.]

Ah, is that so? I have not heard of this. Perhaps we should look around if someone may be willing to breed us a Pokemon then.

The future, hmm? If that's true, then it must be an invention of a more distant future than what I know.

[ does this have anything to do with that movie heather was talking about 8I ]

Yes, though I'm sure a service like that wouldn't be cheap one.

Yes, the ones who have informed me of these "video games" were those from the 21st century. Those same people have also said that the world we are in right now, Johto, is in fact a video game itself.

[...perhaps...would you like to go watch a movie with me, my boy?]

Most likely. I would assume it is the same way as pets back home. That is unless there is a few kind ladies or gentlemen out there to do so for free.

That's quite a ways off, isn't it? It makes one wonder what other inventions will come about in our future.

[ they are called films where we are from professor so i-- wait a minute are you trying to pick me up ]

Precisely the reason why I broadcast this message. There's no doubt that there are a few out there breeders out there who would be willing to lend their services-- even for a small fee.

The possibilities are endless, my boy. If they can make a time machine, I will not be surprised at any other future inventions.

[I'm trying to get into the Western spirit, Lu-- ...maybe...is that what it seems like?]

Well, if you do manage to find a few breeders out there, please do direct them in my direction as well, my boy. I would not mind to obtain an egg myself.

Yes, though I would say that time travel isn't a perfect invention in my present, either.

[ ... i am suspicious of your intentions, professah. ]

Of course, Professor. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I meet someone capable.

Ah, is it not? I was under the impression that it ran perfectly fine, or at least the machine that brought us all here in Johto.

[what i can't go watch the movies with my favorite assistant? i'm shocked, my boy]

Thank you. I greatly appreciate it. [And the Professor tips his hat.]
