I'm not sure how much I believe astrology exactly, but I was curious and someone over on the BPAL forums has been doing charts for people who ask. I thought it was pretty interesting, mostly because it explained why how on earth someone like me could have a Capricorn ascendant, when I'm sooo not Cap-like.

I added my own thoughts in italics.

----

So, yes, kallahendi is a double Pisces (sun and moon in the second house, also her Mercury--retrograde Mercury at that, and a couple asteroids).

And she has Cappie rising.

So, my Pisces friend, others may be picking up a kind of "oh, she's nice and responsible, isn't she--look, she even has some ambition, how quaint" from your Cappie rising--but what you are finding struggling out to be seen and acknowledged is Aquarius, which is an intercepted sign in the 1st house (the fancy astro language means that Aquarius doesn't hit the borders of any of your 12 houses; the whole sign is tucked into the first house, which has Cappie on the start and ends with a smidgen of Pisces, which is the border or cusp of the 2nd house). (Leo, the opposite sign, is intercepted in your 7th house). When a sign is intercepted, it is inwardly felt by the person whose chart it's in, but it is very hard to make the outside world aware of it. So, the person may tend to be frustrated, and try very hard to exert the qualities of the intercepted sign. As if--in your case--the feeling would be "Why the f. would everyone think of me as Ms. Resposible Person when really I am the most free spirited, exploratory, outrageous soul in the universe." Or something like that.

And now it all makes sense!

And yes, you are somewhat uber Pisces. With both your Sun and Moon in Pisces, both your conscious sense of who you are and your inner sense, and emotional center, are very Piscean. So's the way your mind works, though your mind, with a Mercury retrograde at birth, works even more interestingly than the normal Pisces mind.

Heh and this would be why I usually think no one understands me. (And not in the woe is me, emo way. In the people looking at me like o.O when I say things way)

You probably know all the pop astro babble stuff about Pisces? Let me think of some of the usual cliches...um, spiritual, floaty, mystic, poetic, rainbows and bubbles (but no puppies, sorry--well, if you insist, you may have puppies) ...Pisces used to have a really bad rep in the astro circles (actually, all the water signs did, to some extent--just think of Scorpio)--generally concepts like drugs and imprisonment were paired with it (I wonder that anyone had Pisces babies at all in the old days--and I know they did). In fact, it's one of the more intriguing signs--being, yes, poetic and all that--and very hard to pin down. The thing about Pisces is that it has very permeable boundaries: it is just reaching out to all the rest of the universe and humanity and all, and is basing what it thinks of as truth on emotions, on sensitivities, on nuances.

In a way yes, but I'm also a very logical person. So truths must also be logical, though I do base a lot of things on intuition, but I think mostly because I get too lazy to go through the whole scientific process.

Pisces is extremely sensitive--to just about everything around her. Pisces can be extremely sympathetic, and generally when one discusses something with a Pisces they may disagree but you may not know it, because they are so hesitant to hurt your feelings by telling you so (this, as one may imagine, leads to difficulties later: "but I thought...!" says the partner/friend of the nice Pisces, who sort of drifts away).

That's sooo true.

Pisces is probably the most likely sign to have paranormal experiences (maybe Scorpio also, or anyone with a strong Neptune, or possibly Pluto).

Yep, I've had my share.

You find out who you are, both inwardly and outwardly, through exploring the themes of the 2nd house. The 2nd house (old time "house of money and possessions") has a lot to do with what you believe is important, what you value, what you want to hold on to in yourself or in your life, what you'd give everything to keep...and so on. Can have to do with defining self worth ("I am a wonderful person, because......"). With your sun and moon and mercury here it is also possible that real material possessions do mean a lot to you, particularly those with sentimental value.
The asteroid Pallas is here, bridging your Moon and Sun; you have a certain ability to discern true value (whether you take that materially or spiritually or whatever).

There are many forumites with Mercury retrograde (and during the current Mercury retrograde period we should be paying special attention to how they are, because they are probably have a nice time while the rest of us fret). Mercury retro just gives a mind that doesn't usually function in the clear and boring step by step way most of our culture thinks minds should function, and a mind (and communication style) that relies on intuition and flashes of understanding rather than "okay, here's the way this is done. First, we...and then we...and thirdly we..."
Mercury retro people can be very smart, but often have trouble in standard school as children, because they can't explain how they came up with those right answers, and they tend to daydream, and grow restless.
Mercury retro works (let's try another version of the example) like: okay, A, elephants, B, Z, why are we working with letters now? okay, G, let's see if the strawberries in the garden are ripe--oh, you want me to focus...um, M...

Yeah, totally. I always thought it was ADD :X

Saturn (in Virgo) is sort of challenging your Sun and Moon to shape up. This is interesting, because Saturn is the ruler of your Capricorn rising sign. "Shaping up" in Saturnian and Virgo terms would be to come up with structure and method and such
Sometimes a Saturn opposition to the Sun and/or Moon may indicate some sort of strong or restrictive parent or mentor in the life (but Saturn can just as easily work through your own mind and soul--and isn't bad; without some structure we'd all be jelly fish. Pretty jellyfish, maybe, all floaty and charming...oh dear...)

I think this fits, too. I do like routine and structure, I just have a hard time establishing and sticking to it when I'm on my own.

Neptune is the ruler of the sign of Pisces, and in your chart it is in Sagittarius, forming the focal planet of a t square to your sun and Saturn. So, I'd venture there really is a tension between mermaid and Ms. Responsible. T squares are challenging but dynamic, drawing together different forces in your life and spirit--if you are fortunate, or insightful (insightful should be good for a Pisces) you will combine your sympathetic imagination and an ability to endure and make dreams actual.

Not yet, so far, but I think I'm getting there. I hope.

Neptune is in your 11th house, house of friendships and of goals and dreams (so, you may have highly sympathetic friends, you may find yourself taking care of your friends, or gathering in people or beings--that's where the puppies are--that need your help). All this disparate energy can be grounded through your Gemini fifth house (you may need to leap a bit to get in touch with intellectual playfulness and creativity and movement there).

Hmm, does always being the listener count? I tend to give good advice too, although not to myself for some reason. I think I'm pretty creative and quite intellectually playful though.

Jupiter is opposite your Mercury (Jupiter is in your 7th house, in Virgo). Sometimes this makes for exaggeration--but it could also be quite good for wonderful story telling; the challenge is to make certain you are aware of what's true (and what's factual, gee, how boring).

Heh, yeah. I've always been good at creative writing. This is maybe what makes me such a damn good liar too.

Your 3rd house has Aries on the cusp and Venus in Taurus inside, flanked by the asteroids Ceres and Chiron (actually, Chiron is exactly conjunct Venus). This is the house of siblings, people who feel like sibs in your life, your neighborhood, communication, networking...

Venus in Taurus is extremely sensuous, particularly drawn to music, but drawn to beauty of all sorts, and usually Venus in the 3rd house promises affectionate relationships with sibs, if there are any. Indeed, Ceres conjunct would indicate that you may have tenderly cared for siblings, or that you yourself were cared for by brothers and sisters (or people who were like that to you) more than by your own parents. But Chiron here kind of complicates it.

I am drawn to music and definitely a bit a of an aesthete.

If Venus were not right on top of Chiron I would simply say something about problems around communication, or sorrows involving sibs (and this could still be true), but the Venus/Chiron combo gives a certain childlike innocence --a very attractive one--around sexuality; can be quite a potent draw, and sometimes Venus/Chiron people consciously use their sexuality to gain power or security (yes, other people may do this too--you don't have to have Venus/Chiron going on, but this combo definitely brings that possibility to the story at hand). (actually, off the wall, but present here as a possibility--could be a nice combo for someone who was into writing erotica, or in some way using sensuality as part of communication and teaching.).
Chiron in the third is excellent for someone who is teaching/mentoring others (in almost any field, but certainly in communication).

I am pretty good at communication, I think. I don't know where the sexuality fits in though. o.O

Venus/Chiron is trine the 7th house Jupiter, making me suppose that there may be help from positive partners in whatever is being referenced by this--and Mercury is in sextile (which reinforces the "communication" aspect going on here. Maybe you should be writing erotica?)

I don't know about writing it, maybe I'll stick to reading? >.>

Skipping around (and I don't even have a retrograde Mercury)--where might you be able to actualize that hidden Aquarian stuff? Uranus is the planet that rules Aquarius, and it shows up nicely in your 10th house in the sign of Scorpio. So, we'd figure that through the career, or in the eyes of the public at large (this is different than the "when people first meet you they think you are...." which is your first house)--you can express some of your sometimes shocking, or innovative, views and actions. With a Scorpio cusped 10th house there may be something in your career path that involves healing, secrets, sexuality (you see?! erotica, I tell you!), transformation. Could be research as well, delving into things.

I do like research to a point. I think my main priority careerwise is fixing things. I like inventing as well, but I really think my strength is in fixing things. And that's where research comes in. I think. But I definitely do have innovative views a lot of the time. That Pisces side kind of represses my expression of said views, though. That whole not wanting to offend people thing...

That 8th house Saturn in Virgo...(speaking of Scorpio/ the 8th house is its natural house)--Saturn in the 8th is made secure by good sexual contact, by authentic contact with the intensities of this house of karmic sexuality, death and transformation, and so on. Saturn in Virgo really needs to have things to do, movement, work, tasks, anything. (this may be the devil finds work for idle hands aspect--ah, my grandma warned me! But it's not so much that the Virgo Saturn gets into mischief--it's that it frets and worries and obsesses. Go for a walk, take up knitting..or, if there's a partner handy...well, it is the 8th house). This is also the house of received values, of inheritance, of what we have gained from our actual physical (cellular) past. It may be that the tension between Saturn here and your Sun and Moon is an indication that you strongly need to establish your own clear values--apart from, or building upon--what you have been given.

Fret, worry, obsess - me? :P And a big ol' word to that last line.

Remember the intercepted Leo in the 7th house? This is the house of partnerships, marriage, working together (teamwork, things that require cooperation). It can also be the house of open enemies (I always forget this...la, la, la, no enemies anywhere, everything all pretty,la la...)

What is probably happening in this area is that you approach partnership with the Cancer cusp--tender, caring, very sentimental and emotional, ready to do anything to protect and foster your partners. And your partners expect this (you have invisibly tattooed upon your body "I am Mommie, I will make Everything Okay") (this would be true if you were a guy, too). This is fine with you, up to a point, but there's that Leo hidden here. And Leo wants attention, and wonderfulness, and appreciation, and play. Leo wants to dance away from the damn kitchen with those expected cookies and be acclaimed, adored, worshipped. And--you have your north node here, in Leo, and it's conjunct Mars, in Leo--so there is a challenge for you, and lots of energy for that. (Virgo Jupiter also conjuncts your node). To claim authentic partnership (probably where you get to lead, though, or at least be properly recognized), to learn to be partnered, with Leo delight. What you know well, what you are very good at, is expressing your self, and kind of drifting off into Aquarian detachment (the old cliche about Aquarius is that they love humanity but can't stand people--and there's something to that. My dear Aquarian partner struggles for his version of the revolutionary golden age, and is willing to give anyone, literally, the shirt off his back--but don't expect him to remember or be concerned with the details of your life

I don't think of myself as nurturing at all. I'm definitely the one demanding the nurturing. But I'm not like, attention seeking either. But yeah, definitely with the detachment.

A digression:. Standard Aquarian conversation to Libra with Neptune on her Sun: Aquarius "So, I was talking about revolution with George" Libra "really? Has his partner had the baby yet?" Aquarius "George really thinks Trotsky got it all wrong. You know, back in 1933 when the--oh, by the way, where's my volume of Hannah Arendt gone to?" Libra "The baby??Did she have the baby? She was in labor yesterday." Aquarian "What? Oh, baby. Um, yeah, I think so. So, then George said.." "Was it a girl or a boy? Is she okay? Remember she had that bleeding last time?" "And, then, you know, I think Plato may have had it wrong too, I mean, in the third book of the Republic.."
(Libra partner is now jumping up and down and has grabbed Aquarian by the coat and is staring into his eyes): "THE BABY???" He responds "yeah, I think he said what it was, but I don't remember. Have you started dinner yet?"

So, you won't have my partner's extreme Aquarian detachment--but you can do this. What you are challenged to it to connect more to the intimate and even flamboyantly personal.

Mars in Leo has a temper (do you repress it, in this intercepted sign? Or does it blaze merrily and astonish people?). With Mars and Jupiter flanking your northnode you really do have power to draw upon as you make your way in life.

Usually repressed, I was worse when I was younger, though

Jupiter in the 7th is supposed to give a degree of good fortune in finding suitable and helpful partners in your life (doesn't need to be romantic partners).

I have been luck in having good friends, but a romantic-ish partner would be really nice

You have Juno almost at the descendant (the cusp of the 7th house), in the 6th house in Cancer. You're going to draw to you very nurturing partners, very sentimental partners (and crabby, yes, sometimes)--this wouldn't be at all bad for your Pisces nature at all. You may tend to meet partners through the workplace, or when you are doing things that help others.

Yeah that doesn't sound too bad. And all the more reason to get going on a career. For some reason, I've always had a feeling I'd meet someone where ever I end up having a career.

You have your generation's Libra Pluto in the 9th house. Ninth house Pluto people just get driven nuts when people profess to believe in something and then act as if what they believe doesn't really matter. Libra in Pluto in general is here to transform our ideas of what true marriage is, what true beauty is, what harmony and peace are, how we find inner and outer balance. (hey, Pluto in Libra generation, please hurry! Figure this out!!). You will probably enjoy intellectual puzzles, delving deep, exploring odd corners (literally, or in your mind). Pluto is the only planet in your chart in an air sign, so it has to take all the intellectual energies of your spirit on its nice shoulders (otherwise you tend to be very intuitive/emotional and physical; mostly emotional; great emphasis on water in your chart).

Currently Uranus is transiting Pisces, and is currently between your Mercury and Moon; this whole area of your life (2nd house: values, self worth, whatever) may be experiencing shakeups. Remember it's temporary, but by all means, think about whatever is coming up (and pay attention to your dreams right now, there may be elements in them that you should be paying attention to).

Jupiter will be going over your midheaven; there might be opportunities in your career, or in the way the public views you (positive ones).

Should you be feeling a sense of lack of energy right now (particularly in anything involving your partnerships) don't worry; it's Saturn over your Mars, and it will pass (but do pay attention). Sometimes this passage of Saturn through the 7th house shakes up marriages or makes marriages (it's kind of "okay, get serious now!")

Yeah, if this were my chart, I sure wouldn't feel much like Capricorn rising. But it's there, and might now and then be a nice thing to have. (all things in moderation, except the really, really good things!)

Yep, so all in all, I'd say it's fairly accurate. I am emotional, but at the same time logical. It's weird. I would have thought I'd have more air signs, but not having many earth or fire signs doesn't surprise me much.

And while I'm on this kick, the Ravenclaw Pisces:

Ravenclaw Pisceans spend so much time dreaming or reading books of legends that it's a wonder they ever come down to earth. Care must be taken that they do not neglect their material needs, including those that involve sleep, food, and drink. These wizards are natural seers, and often specialize in things like horary astrology, cartomancy, dream interpretation, oracles, and the summoning of visions. Because they possess both intellectual acumen and emotional awareness, they are capable of great insight. They are quiet students, not always the best in their classes, but tend to be brilliant at subjects which they are personally interested in. Shy and nervous, they are easily bullied or intimidated, and need some looking after by more assertive students.

That's almost completely true, except that I had that temper and when bullied, it would fly. I did not hesitate to hit people. XD But other than that, I'd say it's right on. The Gryff and Slyth descriptions are really accurate too, though I'm still failing to see much of a Puff side in me.
