Gam wakes up to find himself riding a train alone.
Scratch that, a subway.
He stands up and stretches, then takes stock. Still no utility bellt, same jacket, pair of jeans, sneakers, t-shirt, and jean jacket... But oh how he loved that jean jacket.
He looked up and saw his reflection in the window.
"Hmmm, mask is back on... Strange."
The subway ground to a halt, and Gam stepped off onto the platform. He looked left, right, back into the train. Not a soul. "Stranger."
Gam climbed the stairs to the street. What he imagined should have been a bustling metropolis was a ghost town. "Stranger still."
Gam walked down the street, trying to recognize the streets. "New York, maybe? No... I've no idea..."
He turned a corner, and a police officer rode up to him on a motorcycle.
"Where are your papers?"
Gam, trying to sort what was what asked in reply, "Papers?"
"Your papers son. It's past curfew."
"Curfew?"
The cop unsheathed his nightstick, and said, "Don't play stupid. Curfew is 10:30 pm, and it is now 2:00 am. If you don't show me your papers, I will take force."
"Yes sir, I apologize."
Gam walked up, reaching into his jacket pocket, as if reaching for something.
"I seem to have misplaced them, sir."
"Sure you did. I'm taking you in."
The officer slapped a cuff on Gam's right wrist, but before he is able to cuff his arms behind his back, Gam backflips onto the officers bike.
"Thanks for the lift!"
Gam revs the bike, and takes off.
"Well this is a right smart situation you've gotten yourself into Boy Wonder," Gam said to himself, as he rounded a corner and picked up two helicopters in pursuit.
"That's even better."
And then they started shooting at him.
