Снова пляски на костях.../ Heritage for sale and destruction
One of the most renowned archeological sites of Kyrgyzstan - The Red River Settlement, Krasnorechenskoe gorodiwe, - is up for sale. The ruins of ancient city Navekat (V - XII A.D.) is declared to be under protection of the state and is on a waiting list to become one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Historical sites.
"Сегодня были на раскопках в Краснореченском городище. За пару дней до этого Дима археолог, с которым мы вместе ездим в поездки по Кыргызстану, позвонил и сказал, что срочно нужно собрать людей на раскопки, которые не терпят отлагательства.
Оказалось, что кто-то ВЫКУПИЛ (!!??) часть земли на территории Краснореченского городища - как раз ту часть, где был некрополь - зороастрийское кладбище, которому более 1000 лет! Как нам рассказали археологи, территория якобы находится под защитой государства и не подлежит пахоте, продаже и тп… но так как территорию (по слухам) выкупил какой-то депутат, то тут ничего не поделаешь… Новый владелец земли разравнял бульдозером этот довольно большой участок земли, где сразу же обнаружилось огромное количество человеческих костей и усыпальных сосудов (оссуарий).
Вот их мы и пытались спасти для науки и потомков. Раскопали самую незначительную часть - 9 усопших, 1 из которых был совсем ребенком в крошечном оссуарии, 1 - просто скелет без оссуария, а один был очень сильно разрушен бульдозером. Все находки отправятся в музей КРСУ на реставрацию, а оставшиеся под землей частички истории остались на растерзание грейдеру, который начнет свою работу завтра в 9 утра…
Если на территории городища будут возведены какие-то постройки, то Краснореченское городище не сможет войти в список Мирового наследия ЮНЕСКО. Но какая разница этому быдлу, манкуртам, моральным уродцам, которые запросто продают, покупают, разрушают памятники истории, плюют на закон, на нас всех… Да пусть к вам каждый день приходят духи тех, на чьих костях вы возводите свои замки, и до тех пор, пока вы не станете жить честно!"

И про "охраняется государством", да.

It looks like it doesn’t matter a thing in modern Kyrgyzstan. Part of the protected land was sold to a private owner, as they say a member of Kyrgyz Parliament. Yesterday his heavy machinery began to flat down a part of the Necropolis - a graveyard of ancient Sogdians, who were the followers of Zoroaster.
The Necropolis also holds the remains of a Zoroastrian temple. Would it go under the blade, too?
The eyewitness of yesterday barbarism, a member of an archeological team, reports a numerous human bones and pieces of ossuaries (clay coffins for the bones), that were unearthed during machinery work.
As far as she knows, no archeologists or government agencies have been contacted before sale.
“One of the most magnificent and impressive medieval sites in the Northern Kyrgyzstan- and only 35 km from Bishkek, - is The Read River Settlement (“Krasnorechenskoe gorodshe”). The remains of this medieval city spread on the area over several squared km. Most of walls and buildings by now are just the little hills, or were flatted completely by the agricultural activities. But the main part survived. The historians believe it is the “leftovers” of the ancient city of Navekat (“New City” in Farsi), that flourished in 6 - 12 centuries AC. Navekat was a huge trade and cultural centre of ancient Turkic kaganats. The north branch of The Silk Road went through this city.
An archeological research on the ruins has been carried on (on and off, more “off” since the 1991) since the end of 19 century (by the Russian and Soviet scientists). The truly amusing thing is that the remains of the temples of three religions have been found: Buddhist, Zoroastrian, and Manichaean. It was thriving city, and even now its area is “littered” with the bits of ancient pottery, old clay bricks, iron ore, and even the human bones (at the necropolis site). The rains wash out coins, small sculptures and crosses, small metal things…”
