Back from Elliots, overall, good
So I'm back hoem from elliots Spring 2011, overall, I had a damn fine weekend.
Didn't bother to show up thursday, save some money, Friday was by best day. Did not go to gatorland, no real interest, so took our time getting to hotel & just meandered along waiting for Quincy to show up and get us into the room. Once there unpacked, then got food, ah the Joy of Mac grill, decent conversation with friends. The evening is really where things started picking up. I put on the bunny roo, and got a nice collection of attention, the really nice part is there were an awefull lot of girls at elliots. The best part of the day actually happeend when I was heading from the headless to what was supsoed to be upstairs to change for some evening pool action. I didn't make it that far, a girl, whose name I only half caught and cant remember now intercepted me as i crossed the dance room, "dragged" me inside & "made" em dance with her, and it kept goign and going and going, for liek over an hour. pretty hot dancing too *blush* That doesn't happen often, It was initiated by another (my favorotekind of attention) and the affection on the dance floor kept escalating til i lsot nearly all my inhibition, I still a few times tried to back off a bit to make sure I wasn't crowding, but each time i just got pulled closer so I went with it. About the only down sides is Not knowing who it was, and it likely being a one off thing between us. Though if you or any friends are reading this feel free to hook us back up, and get to know each other :). It woudl be nice to verify her age too just to be safe :). if not, hey thats cool too, had a blast while it lasted. Even danced headless for a bit cus i was tired, remeber I was about to get out fo suit, but went in there after a break from dancing to observe, and same girl still grabbed me for more so...I was like ok :) but that was short, still overheating & i didnt wanna sweat all over her. Yes we did eventually make it to the pool for a LATE night dip.
OMG OMG OMG The hotel resurfaced the hot tub surface, *bows before them* thank you thank you thank you.
Saterday, went to Ihop, sans convoy he was sufferign from the late night the day before and we had an early start . Milled around for a bit, furries do not get up early. The King artanged for a number of guest speakers this event, Hunnycut from Nasa's Apollo years, game developers, tv producer, and *drum roll* Famouse voice actor & friend to furries everywhere, Mr. Rob Paulson. Now despite how awesoem that is, I wasn't really getting my hopes up or plannign to sit in on hsi panal, it was a small room & a first coem first serve kinda thing, but there were soem friends in lien so i Hung out. Surprizingly enough, not many peopel were in teh first (of 2) sessions) so i had nothign better to do, and there was penty of room so I Sat in, and had an awesoem time. Despite beign at Anthrocon when ob was, I didn't go to his panal there, really just enjoyed from a far at things liek ceramonies & the varity show. That and havign seen some interviews, he seemed liek a cool dude, & I can confirm one on one cus this panal was that intimate, he is an icnredible speaker & humble. I asked several questions he seemed to enjoy, got some info on his upcoming projects, & while I observed the second aprt where he was letting furry future hopeful voice actors do some real material from voice over audition's then providing advice & direction, I didn't participate, I also left cus it wasn't as interestign and i was really cold & had to pee, I never went back in, though I regret not seeing Simba take a stab at it, though I did really enjopy Alex Trefur's audition..
Durign the second paulson set I decided to hop in the ferret, got the ussual, thats an awesoem ferret attention, couple hugs, but nothing too sustained or affectionate, and the occasional new one, "are you a possum?" Wow....possum, really? In any event had fun, but didn;'t have much opertunity or audience to sustain the desire to have extended fursuiting so meandered abck to teh room and got ready for the pool, early for the pool party but not too much.
Pool party again was awesome, one fo the best social gatherings at any con, screwed aroudn with people, Fuji armed the group with water canons which were awesoem at first but eventually got quite annoying deu to some particular people, but in my case it was more of a minor irritante, others liek the hookah guy were really getting pissed. In any event had a good time, Rob paulson came out and did "the song" over the PA during it. It sucked when I got ice water dumped on me, though the target was another. but was in the pool so not super horrible. Music was for the msot part decent. had fun with the beach balls. There was a misunderstood rumor, that there was goign to be an ESG sponsered movie showing down at AMC of Pirates 4. Turns out it was not ESG sposnered but something the participants were throwing together ie, not comped, so despite considering goign when free, quickly lsot interest in leaving when i found it was paid, and the group small. SO I did the best next thing, Got Drunk! Too drunk in fact. After just 3 little hotel comp room glasses of rum & coke's (which equated to 2/3's plus of a bottle...consumed in the mattor of maybe 30-45 minutes, and without a substantial food load in me (which i later apreciated) Despite being IN suit, I never got the head on or made it out of the room. I shoulda stopped at 2, had a hell of a buzz but didn't feel nausious yet. I didn't throw up first though yay, and I didn't hit anything. BAsed on the voluem of liquad it was a lot, but nto much solid so survivable, spared the suit, and moving on. I felt pretty crappy, might have made it downstairs to explore (about 1 am) but felt borderline enough not to want to risk it, so de-suited and passed out. Woke up at 4am, and felt decent, so went exploring, to my disapointment coming up empty handed, sure things were going on, but all private at that point and outside my knowlege.
While I did reach one "goal" of throwing up drunk at a con (I never did feel like a real furry having never done that, lol) and therefor finding my limit, I still feel I disapointed myself by missing Saterday night, more dances & possibly more close time with cute people. *sigh* but still it was fun getting to that point, just didnt enjoy going over the limit.
Sunday was of course Wet n Wild. Nothing happeend prior to except a semi light breakfast at Ihop. Still feeling a bit iffy with any kind of drastic motion & based on my experiences last year with soem fo the rides, I decided to take it very easy and didnt plan to do much, just hang out & eat. Did 2 sessions on lazy river, I actually did do Disco h20 and black hole, but that pushed me so I scaled back and skipped everythign else. The food was as ussual tasty well distrubuted & satisfying.
As it turns out, this was true, unlike prior years, of all the food servings, including the elliots ones. Longest line was for the icecream friday night and even that was reasonable, made even more so by michel giving me his, cus he was full. If I had known, I probably would have had Simba's breakfast, but I totaly avoided it based on the experience last year. I shoulda scoped it out. I ended upo goign to the esg breakfast to be social, but I wasn't hungry and agian wanted to keep it light due to the prior night. I finally met "Buddy" lol he's definatly a character I'll say that.
Even the pool party food was quick flowing and of better availabel varity then last years, well done guys.
Sunday night was ESG characteristicly dead, no one was in con space when I checked, what people were around were clearly doing their own things, and not accesable. So I was just in the room with Convoy, our other room mates having left, despite knowing people were around. I even reached out on witter, but just Ripner responded. So had good conversation in the room and watched the BBF FCN 2011 video (part 1 anyway) the hotel wireless was good :)
So yeah overall good, had some quality social interactions, with the big hi-light at the friday dance. That dance was proably the best experience of the weekend for me, with Rob Pauslon number 2.
Despite no interest in gatorland, the lack of Funspot was not an issue for me, Just lost any real interest to do that either honestly.
I do want to reach out and compliment Dragonboy on an awesome Dance sound setup this year. I'll say they had the best placement and balence of sound of any con I've been to so far. Full range no frequncy holes I noticed and wide dispertion, no slap back no dead spots, Thanks. & the music was uncharacteristly good when I was around.
About all else I can say about ESG was due to conversation I checked out the new my little pony & loony Tune cartoons.

So yes, ESG spring is still a keeper, still on the fence about the Pavillion events I keep goign for the hopes fo something awesome happening to me, like the friday dance, but generally leave disapointed & bored.
