Anime musings
Art and I both have a nasty head cold, so this entry is not going to be very well-phrased.
~ Started watching Clamp's "Tsubasa Chronicles" and so far it seems like stew of random CLAMP series. We've got the main characters are blatantly yoinked from Card Captor Sakura [Mmmm...Yukito/Touya...], Chobits, Angelic Layer, X(?), and there's Mokona bunnies from Rayearth bopping around. ...and that's all from the 10 minutes I've watched. But eh, I need something to watch while I work out.
~ Music video from a friend who says "As much as I like anime, this video is hilariously true: Every anime opening ever made."
~ Watched 26 episodes of the Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood remake. I think it's better than the original. Yes, the storyline is different, but it's more true to the manga and makes more sense than the first series. Downside is that there's no episode with Lieutenant Armstrong's family.
~ Watched the first episode of the Evangelion remake and I like it. Considering that Art destroyed his childhood memories when he tried to show me the original [We watched 3 episodes: "Wow, this is godawful in English...nope it's pretty bad in Japanese too...hey, Spanish dubbing makes this hilarious!"], he was pretty happy with the remake.
~ Watched the first episode of the Hellsing remake. Man, unhappily more violent and disgusting than the original series. This one is more true to the manga, but we've decided that the author is a sadist and misogynist, reveling in torture, gore, and rape. Apparently he hated what the animators of the original Hellsing series did, so this is his version. Blech.
~ Finished Moyashimon! Adorable!
Ok, now time for figure skating! Yay Mirai Nagasu! And I'm also becoming a fan of Carolina Kostner. She was the only ladies skater at Skate America who didn't bore me.
