Quite possibly my favorite month

The cool fall wind blows the scent of eucalyptus through my window.  It's definitely an autumn wind blowing from a new direction, because I’ve lived here all winter, spring and summer, and never smelled it before.  The night is chilly enough for fuzzy socks and a cozy cardigan, and later we’re going to sip some hot cocoa.  I’ve pulled down some of the décor boxes so that we can bring fall leaves into the house, even if San Diego’s trees won’t oblige us with autumn colors until late November.  There have been discussions of Halloween costumes, and I’d like to sculpt a new dragon to wear with mine.  Oh yeah, I totally need a Halloween dragon!  The pumpkins look plump in the grocery store.  Maybe Henry’s will have some decent cooking pumpkins so I can make that wonderful cheese-covered stuffing dish that’s baked inside one.  There are artichokes and acorn squash in the fridge.  Hmmm, I need more recipes for those too…
