Hello, denizens of livejournal! I have missed you. ♥ The month or so I spent away was a little rough, but hey, I'm in fandom; I should know coping skills are hard-earned, right?

And I have been doing pretty well, other than the pining, although I am reaching the stage of Not Accomplishing Things where I start to be reeeeally conscious of how I *should* be working, oh man. Next week, I swear. (Apropos of that, have you seen this? The whole internet--rightly--exploded over how CORRECT AND TRUE it is, but you may have been gone.)
Also, I have written nothing, see above, but I have a ton of srs bsns Ideas about Reboot Kirk characterization and how to Do It Right, so maybe that will actually turn into something one of these days. Annnnd, let's see, I went to Vividcon and saw a ton of vids! do you like vids? Because if you do, there were some fabulous ones I should rec for you.
In final news, it is so very miserable in Chicago and I have no air conditioning, so right now I am DYING OF HEAT AND HUMIDITY even though it is 11:30 at night and I am wearing basically nothing. I long for fall. :(

Oh my god. That is hilarious, holy shit. Clean ALL THE THINGS! I can't stop laughing. Thank you for bringing that joy into my life! I totally know that feeling - avoidance only makes me more avoidant, until I finally feel crappy enough about myself to do something about it. /o\ Lately I've been a little better about it, actually, but the weather here apparently resembles the weather in Chicago, and that makes me want to do nothing but train an oscillating fan to follow me around. Dog days of summer, ugh, I hate you.
Anyway, I feel confident you will accomplish what you need to by the time you need to, and you deserve time to yourself for fun and aimlessness, too. If you need me to kick you off the internet - I could probably not muster the necessary assertiveness, but for you I would try. <3
I also feel confident your ideas about Kirk are awesome. I would read the crap out of them in whatever format - whether you wrote fic or just rambled about them.
I do like vids! I would love some recs if/when you felt up to providing them, thanks! Oh and also, before I forget, thank you SO MUCH also for the virtual bellflower! It was so sweet, and it totally made my week.
