What has happened to the band I once loved?
The new Incubus album, "A Crow Left of the Murder", makes me laugh and cry all at the same time.And I mean that in the worst way possible. Seriously, this album is so bad it's comical, but it's also a major bummer. Incubus should have just stopped at S.C.I.E.N.C.E, because nothing is going to get better than that. Granted Make Yourself was also a great album, Incubus started going down hill with Morning View (a poppy radio friendly conformist piece) but at least it was tolerable. Do not buy this cd, if your curious I will just burn you the album because I would hate for you to waste 14 bucks. Recently I've also bought Probot (Dave Grohl's side metal band project) and Placebo's "Sleeping With Ghosts". Probot is entertaining at best. It has a good sound, but I can't help but feel like Dave Grohl is just poking fun at metal in general. But, if Dave is your God like he is mine, then I'd recommend it. Placebo is great electronic rock. Very moving. Highly enjoyable. A song not on the Placebo album that I bought, but you would probably recognize is Pure Morning. "A friend in need's a friend indeed A friend with weed is better A friend with breasts and all the rest A friend who's dressed in leather." Good shit. That's it for now. Ciao.
