i can't even.
For like, five minutes last night I was planning on not watching any of the incoming footage of Adam's performances at the opening Idol concert in Portland. I mean, it's only a week until I see the show in San Jose and I usually have pretty decent self-control, so I thought I could do it. Without leaving the fandom (i.e., unwatching ontd_ai), you can't really avoid photos, concert reports, and squeeing -- and really, I didn't want to avoid those things -- but video clips? You can avoid those by not clicking the "play" button.
Despite my supposed self-control, I thought that I would just test the waters, to "just see how he how did" (note to 2am-self: PPPFFTT, LIKE THERE WAS EVER ANY SECOND THAT YOU DOUBTED HIS GREATNESS, YOUR BIG LIAR), so started watching this clip of "Fame" and couldn't get more than 10 seconds in without making incoherent noises and flailing and having to pause it 'cause it was TOO FUCKING INTENSE.
So based on my reaction to just 1/6th of a minute of his performance, I decided that it would be best for my mental and physical health to completely immense myself in clips of Adam's performances. That way I might not actually blackout as soon as he hits the stage. So I watching clips. Very slowly. With a lot of play, watch for 5 seconds, pause, collect self, repeat.

(I dothink I'll be able to hold off watching Kris and Allison's performances -- save Allison's duet with Adam -- 'cause I think I'll be okay during their sets.)
