Dear Dr. Gregory House (and the writers of the show),

Just because the migraine prevention medication did not stop you and coma guy from developing migraines (chemically induced migraines, even), does not mean that the medication doesn't work. Anyone with an elementary grasp of statistics knows that not everyone in a treatment group needs to experience the effect in order for the results to be statistically significant. Maybe you really did sleep cheat your entire way through med school.

Then again, Dr. Webber coudn't even pronounce ANOVA correctly, so maybe he whored himself out as well never really paid attention either.

Another thing, this time regarding the whole antidepressants/serotonin syndrome thing, especially since I think the writers were getting at Zyban (a.k.a. bupropion, a.k.a. Welbutrin). Bupropion is a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor and thus, HAS LITTLE DIRECT ACTION ON SEROGENIC SYSTEMS. Therefore, while burpropion has been known to increase the likelihood of seizures (esp. with alcohol consumption), unless the kid was taking a SSRI in conjunction to the bupropion, there is no way he could've had serotonin syndrome.

Also, House? SSRI's don't "fake brains into thinking they have more serotonin than they actually do." That explanation gave me a migraine. And WTF is with "serotonin storm"? It's serotonin syndrome, people.

Not Much Love,
Giuliana
